Rodolphus closed his eyes and wrapped his arms around her, hugging her so tightly he picked her up, holding her close. "I wasn't there," he said quietly, knowing exactly what she was talking about. "I wasn't there; I didn't go with them. I know what's happened, though, but... I wasn't there."
He buried his face in her neck and tool a deep, shaky breath. "Yes. He's back," he murmured. "She... they found a way, and he's back." He didn't want to scare her but she had to know. They would all know, sooner or later.
