It was Remus' turn to choke into his tea. What began as a chuckle quickly turned into roaring laughter. Wiping tears away, he took a deep breath, trying to stop his hysterics, but he couldn't help it. Was he sure?
"Quite certain," he managed to squawk out, gulping for air. He hadn't laughed like this in weeks. It felt...good.
"Oh, Tonks," he said, the laughter slowing. "Thank you for that. I used to worry people knew just by looking at me, but you've solidified what my parents and friends have been telling me for years. Greatly appreciated."
He looked up at the blushing Auror. This was, perhaps, the beginning of a good friendship. She wasn't running out the door, that's for sure. And she'd tried to respond to his confession with what he could only describe as an attempt at tact. Despite her seemingly bizarre sense of what was what, he found her logic all the more endearing. It was oh-so-predictably what he'd expected Sirius' little cousin to be.
