Ron grinned back at her, "You are not stupid. Let's get you comfortable, way close to the ground down here first, and then maybe someday, I'll get you up higher. Not everyone is up for the fast and furious racing stuff, but you can fly on a broom, I just know it," he said, his words and tone confident in her, "I mean, you've been able to do anything you put your mind to. I was just thinking that you probably didn't ever have the babysteps that I had most of my childhood. Harry too. Although that one," and Ron grinned as he walked along her side, "He told me he used to be a terror on a broom, straight away. I sort of wanted to, I suppose, but I had all of these older brothers looking after me, and my mum was just wise to it all. It's different when you're the only kid I expect," he said, chatting away, in part because he liked talking to her, and in part because he wanted to make her feel more comfortable and confident.
