Pansy stopped, a look of surprise replacing her early smile as it left her face.
"What? You're....leaving. But Draco," and she paused, ready for a moment to reveal some true emotion to him. She checked herself, and let her face resume a more neutral expression, "I think I'll stay. Maybe I'll check up on Theo," she said, thinking tersly to herself, and find someone else to dance with and chat it up with. I am not a bit tired.
She didn't say anything, but clearly noted the "I'll be heading back," he spoke of- not "We."
It was a huge let down, but then she wasn't about to let him know that he was wounding her by leaving her at the dance.
She said in a light unreadable tone, "Well, thank you for escorting me here, and for the dancing. It was brilliant," she said, far more cheerfully than she imagined she could.
