He held her, his heart hammering in his chest, and he rested his head against hers. It seemed like they stood like that for the longest time, a peaceful moment of just being with each other. He felt like he could feel everything about her, her own heart beating and the flush on her skin, the softness of her hair and something more. He was ready to ask her a question, how she felt, when he heard a noise and he looked up.
A student stood at the end of the aisle, a book in hand, with a look of surprise on his face. Ron sort of jumped away from Hermione, and then sputtered, "Yeah, well, thanks for the hug. I feel loads better now," as he disentangled himself from her, and ran a hand down his clothes to sort of adjust them and himself discretely.
He looked awkwardly at her, as the other student put the book back on the shelf. The intruder looked at them curiously and seemed to intentionally move slower as he took a different book and moved to leave, giving them a second look over this shoulder. As it was clear that Ron was not going to say anything, the student gave up and left.
Ron turned back to her when it was clear they were going to be alone, "Hermione..are you okay?"
