Pansy was at Draco's side, Daphne on the other and she glanced to her side, looking at Draco first and then Daphne and then ahead at the path. She'd taken the time to study a bit in the morning, and had been happy when Draco had finally decided that they should all go. He was their leader; they deferred to him out of loyalty and some obedience.
"I'd like some hot chocolate," she said, more to herself than to the boy next to her or the other girl, "And to maybe look at some new robes for next weekend. What do you think?" she asked, opening up the conversation to both Draco and Daphne, and ignoring Crabbe and Goyle for the most part.
She was fairly certain Draco was not going to ask her. Since that evening they'd spoken, she hadn't seen him alone. In the crowded common room, yes, Pansy had sat near him, or at the table, working. But there had been no hint of something more between them, other than common friendship. She had resolved herself that he was either interested in someone else, or just content to be on his own. Either way, she was not going to pretend that he might fancy her. He was her mate, almost like Daphne, even if she did long for a bit more from him.
