Ron nodded, vigorously as he exhaled, "Thanks Mandy. Studying would be ideal, of course. It's not like we aren't all studying, just about all of the bloody time," he added with enthusiasm.
He turned down the path, ready to walk more, feeling some burden lifted, "It could work out well. We could talk about Quidditch, and then maybe the topic of the dance would come up and I could just causally ask her if she was going with anyone."
Ron paused, "Or I could not ask her until I got her on her own, maybe after we study," and he thought for a moment, "I could offer to walk her to her house?" he stated, a question in his tone as he looked at Mandy, "I mean, how do you start? How did you and Harry start talking? I never much asked him. At the time, I was a bit curious but I sort of forgot to go back and ask him. He certainly fancies you, so I guess it made it easier," he added, walking slowly at her side.
Ron took a hand out of his pocket and made a gesture with it as if to explain, "It's not like I'm completely ignorant. I've got older brothers and sisters and I've watched them, but I never asked for any pointers. I guess I should have, but I just didn't think...I don't know what I was thinking."
