His stomach dropped a little and he tried very hard to not have it show in his face. Love interests? It was something he didn't really think about. Sure, he occasionally suffered through a date set up by Sirius, but he wasn't one for meeting strangers, especially when they were pretty birds intent on wooing him.
Really, he avoided love at all costs. He'd long ago convinced himself that unless an ideal mate came along whom he knew he could trust with his secret and that would stay with him as Sirius and James had, he'd probably spend his life alone. And he'd come to peace with that for the time being.
"No, not really," he confessed. "I've been busy and I haven't really thought about it."
He snagged another biscuit and refilled his teacup.
"If Sirius and I don't find anyone soon, we might as well resign ourselves to each other and leave it at that," he joked. "Did I tell you I'm moving into his flat? He's barely there, what with living at Hogwarts and all, and I lost an unfortunate poker bet the other night that designated me caretaker of the place."
