Who: Aimee Vassar and Ethiel Windsor What: A meeting between student and sponsor Where: Science lab near Aimee's office When: Thursday, before lunch
Aimee had been in the lab since seven o'clock in the morning. She had risen early, trying to keep her naturally nocturnal internal clock on school time, which meant being awake during the day instead of after the sun set. She'd put a post-it on her office door with directions to the lab in case any students needed her, and then took off for the familiarity of microscopes and specimens. She had brought as much of her research as she'd been able to salvage with her from the old school, but a lot of the specimens would need to be recounted.
She would need to essentially start from the beginning. So for hours, she leaned over a microscope, counting microscopic single-celled organisms taken from specimens of populations. After so long, her eyes were tired, and her back was beginning to ache slightly from being leaned over for so long.
She stood up straight and stretched, yawning a bit before she readjusted her lab coat and started counting again. The door to the lab was open in case anyone needed her. One hand adjusted the focus of the microscope while she kept tally with the other on a sheet of graph paper, utterly focused so she didn't lose count.
