"I am also Peyton's advisor, yes. And I am teaching Advanced Science, so I will see those students, too. In class anyway," she smiled.
"I just want you to know, that I am here to help you with anything. Problems in class, or out, and anything you say to me is confidential, unless I fear for your life or someone else's. You understand?" She wanted her students to truly see her as a confidante if they needed one (maybe they didn't have anyone else), but she also didn't want to break their trust if they didn't know certain things could not be confidential.
"Well, training involves a lot of positive reinforcement. There's scolding, yes, but the focus is more on the positive. But, it is very important to have a well-trained dog, or something bad could happen, and that would be terrible. Maybe a cat would suit you better?" Sydni thought that a pet would be good for this young woman. She seemed so timid that she could probably use some companionship.
The question startled her and she paused. It wasn't a talent. It was a horrible monstrosity. But, that wasn't something to discuss with a student. "I'm a werewolf. Around the full moon I may seem out of sorts, but that doesn't mean you can't come to me. And I usually sleep most of the day after a full moon, but again, please don't hesitate if you need me."
Wanting to finish that discussion, she proceeded on to the actual business of this visit. "Now, tell me a bit about your classes and why you chose them." She knew what classes she had signed up for, but she wanted Lelia to explain them to her. "And any goals you have for this semester, or any concerns." Sydni was clearly an intuitive learner, as that was how she interacted with others.
