Ciri nodded with a smile. "The language of the dryads is Greek from very long ago. Go'al'enu and I speak it often and that is very nice." Then he started to talk about the world not always being a friendly place and she wondered what he meant by 'people like him.' "What do you mean by people like you?" What possible difference could there be between the two of them? A thought struck her. "Your skin color? It is lovely! I think humans have a hard time getting used to others different than them but I am glad things are better now."
Going to a new place to learn about his origins was admirable and she listened with fascination. "I hope you find out what you want to know," she said. "I would like to know what you discover if you are willing to tell me." Yes, Calvin did brighten her day considerably and things only got better as the years went on. With a baby on the way, she had high hopes for the future. He had been her teacher when she needed one and was so fascinating that she wanted to stay with him all the time. She was determined to find good parts in people like she had with Calvin. It was good to know Sami wasn't bothered by loneliness, or maybe it wasn't, but he didn't seem the sort to settle down and start a family.
"Maybe this is where you are meant to be." She didn't know if she was the type to believe in things like destiny. His sudden laughter at her remark amused her and she giggled at his reaction. "Sorry! I am not supposed to talk about that because people might be upset. Why do women not say they like having sex with their husbands? Is it not enjoyable?" She smiled. "I like to dance too. I hope there is another large dance again soon so all my friends can dance together." She listened to his idea about having a garden for everyone and grew more excited. "That is a wonderful idea! I think you should so everyone can have fun planting and taking care of them. I will have to plant strawberries."
