There were times when Jonothan did have to pause to understand what Ruby was saying. Just because they spoke the same language didn't mean he could overcome the accent all of the time. But he was pretty good at it so there was no problem here. Listening to Ruby, Jono leaned over on his left elbow, fist pressed against his chin to hold him up.
"It's nothing," said the brunette with a small shake of his head in between her sentences. He really didn't need to be thanked for this, he was doing it because he liked Ruby and he wanted to show it in some other form than sex, hugs, and kisses. "Though I don't think it's so bad, and I probably hear more if it than you." There were days where Jono, try as he might, could not block out the sounds. Nights when kids down the hall were having sex or arguing were horrible. His headphones could not be turned up loud enough.
"You'll get that road trip. I'm from California. My parents and I just moved here last month. I miss Cali, though. Sunshine all day long. Great beaches. It's not bad here, but I hate that it's already starting to get cold and it's only October! It doesn't get this cold until the end of November or December. At least not in the part of the state we lived in."
