Well this wasn't awkward at all. The look of horror on Finn's face didn't make Rez feel weird in the slightest. He didn't feel his vocal chords seizing up and refusing to make a sound because he had no idea what to say to that or even how to respond. There wasn't a voice inside his head telling him to simply turn around, walk away, and pretend that he'd not seen him there at all. Nope. None of that was happening just now.
But instead of doing that, he finally spoke, remarking offhandedly on something that was kind of a neutral subject. "This is a good party." Yeah, real smooth. It always weirded him out when he found that he couldn't talk to the people that he had once been so close to. Like how he had been avoiding Fisher ever since he'd heard that he was teaching here now. It had been ten years and yet he still couldn't bring himself to look at the other man. That may be another reason why he was at this party and not the other one which Fisher had signed up to chaperone.
