"Ah," Kael said, nodding his head. But then he frowned. "That's dumb. I mean.. especially for what he is. He's going to live a long, long time. He's bound to get.. lonely eventually." He frowned. The comment about his dad didn't offend him at all. In fact, he kind of laughed. "Yeah, he was. As far as I remember anyway." He shrugged a little. "Pretty sure he never wanted me, and really, why would he, ya know? I was just another mouth to feed and something for his wife to use against him if she ever found out about me."
"Huh?" Kael looked confused for a minute, but then he blushed a little and cleared his throat. "Uh.. I said that, huh?" He smiled and then gave a small shrug of his shoulders. "It doesn't have to be if you don't want it to be but.. I was thinking, you know, it was kinda... Dateish?" He asked, looking at her with a brow slightly arched. And then she said that and it was all he could do to not grin to the point of looking like a total idiot, just a partial one. "I like you too, Maggie." And then he laughed a little as he added, "You know, for a girl. Since I'm... gay and all."
