Who: Nandi and Eli What: Climbing the water tower Where: On campus When: Afternoon Rating: PG 13
Moving in wasn't a very big deal when you'd been living in the dorms all summer. Because Eli didn't have anywhere else to go, except sometimes his brother's room, he had been on campus all summer and it had been boring as hell. On the plus side he had perfected his ollie kick, but on the downside he was so sick of looking at this place he almost wanted to burn it down. But with parents and students milling about, it was easier to wander around and not have security watch you too closely, and that's exactly what he was going to do. He had walked along the walls, skatedboarded through the parking lot, rolled down the lawn, and his next target was the water tower. He didn't really like water, but since it was contained inside, he figured it would be fine.
Holding his skateboard at his side, Eli made his way to the ladder at the bottom, but he paused when he saw someone else standing there. A girl. A pretty girl. Swallowing, Eli took a breath, gained some composure and strutted over, looking up like she was. "Rumor has it there's a dead guy up there," he said casually. "Some guy offed himself and they never bothered to get him down."
Nandi had gotten there the week before and had unpacked easily before going to help her little brother unpack. It was relaxing and exciting and scary all at once. When she would have just gone to her mother, she had to find something else to curb her enthusiasm. As it was, there wasn't much to be excited about after a while. There weren't really any other kids there and they'd come a few days early. So, movies in her room it was.
Finally, she was able to go out with more people coming in and not feel like she was in some strange ghost town. Walking over the lawn, she followed her nose to a rabbit hanging out under the water tower. While she wanted to chase it, she ended up just watching it. Hearing the footsteps, she ignored them till someone spoke up. Hair in a braid and in a tank top with shorts and sandals, Nandi was basic, but still pretty. "Really?" She said, her big eyes widening when his information sank in. Looking up, she scrunched up her nose. "I wonder why."
--- "Why they left him there, or why he's dead?" Setting his skateboard down, Eli took advantage of Nandi's distraction and checked her out, his dark eyes taking in all the inches of her. Nice.
"We could go up there and see, if you like."
--- "Both," she said, looking back at him. "You think he's really still up there?" Nandi smiled curiously, her accent there, but not hindering her English.
"You want to go all the way up there to see if there's a dead body up there?" While she didn't really want to see a dead body, Nandi highly doubted there was one up there. "Sure."
--- Shurgging, Eli lifted a hand to his eyes, blocking the sun from his vision. "Got nothing better to do anyway." Of course, Eli knew that there wasn't a body up there, but it would still be fun to freak this girl out a little. Heading to the ladder, Eli grabbed hold of the rungs and started climbing, glancing back over his shoulder to make sure she was following. Tossing his hair from his eyes, Eli made his way up, moving carefully but trying not to be too slow so this girl didn't think he was scared of being up so high. Even though he kind of was.
Swinging his leg over the top rail, Eli turned around and offered Nandi a hand, trying his best to keep from noticing how incredibly high up they were now.
--- Nandi easily kept up, staying just behind far enough so the boy had room to climb. If it was her leading, she'd be up there in just a few moments. Her lycan agility and strength and speed making it that much easier. She paused a moment and smiled at how high they were. It was so clear and beautiful. By the time she got to the top, she was grinning and enjoying the breeze.
Using his hand, she got over the rail and stood there before laughing. "I love this!" She beamed. "It's so high up, but it's so wide and clear and I can see everything."
--- Shoving his hands into his pockets, Eli leaned against the railing, looking in the opposite direction as Nandi. "It's pretty okay," he said. "So um... you don't sound like you're from around here. Where are you from?"
--- "No," Nandi giggled. "I'm from New Delhi. India. I moved here about a year ago to live with my older brother," she explained, looking away from him as well. It wasn't something she really talked about, but she didn't want to be one of those poor orphans she saw in movies that pitied themselves and didn't take care of themselves. She wanted to be someone her parents would be proud of, not sulk.
--- "New Dehli. Cool." Eli nodded, pushing off the rail and walking around to the other side. Peering back, a smirk grew on his lips, and Eli vanished around the corner. "Oh shit!" he gasped loudly. "Oh my God... that's disgusting..."
--- "Thanks," Nandi smiled. She was about to ask where he was from, but he walked off. Maybe he was the kind that liked to know about everyone else and have no one know anything about him. Looking up as he went around the corner, her head whipped to where his voice was going. "What!? What is it!?" She cried, scurrying over. Nandi knew it wasn't the dead body, but maybe it was something else. Like a birds nest. Boys thought cute things like that were gross.
--- Grinning like a big dumb idiot, Eli waited for Nandi to get close, her footsteps ehoing on the metal floor. When she was beside him, looking in the direction where he was, Eli turned to her suddenly and screamed "BOO!" Then, immediately afterward, he started cracking up.
--- She hadn't expected him to turn and yell, so when he had Nandi let out a shriek, backing up a bit before grabbing onto the rail. "What was that for!?" She cried, slapping him on the arm. Stupid boys.
--- Overcome with laughter, Eli leaned against the tank of the water tower, shaking his head and sliding to the floor, plunking his butt on the floor. "B-because... it was funny!" he giggled. "You jumped a mile!"
--- "I should make you jump a mile too! It's only fair," Nandi huffed, glaring at him before she started to giggle to. It really had been funny, a little. "This is the last time I go up the water tower with a mean boy like you," she joked.
--- Letting his laughter die off, Eli scrubbed his face with his hands before getting up. "I'm sorry," he chuckled. "I couldn't resist though. It was too perfect." Shaking his head to get his hair out of his face, Eli sized Nandi up. "I'm Eli, by the way."
--- "It's okay," she smiled and waved it off. "I'm Nandi." Holding out her hand for him to shake, she just kept smiling. "Just means I've got to figure out how to get back at you."
--- Wiping his hand on his jeans (because it was sweaty and probably dirty), Eli shook Nandi's hand, noticing that it was very soft. "Good luck on that, Nandi. I'm good at pranks and I'm hard to trick." He grinned, and winked, then turned away to look over the railing out at Danvers. So far, so good. He was being very smooth right now, and slick, and he wanted to keep that going and not turn into the mumbling dork he usually was in front of girls.
--- "I've very good at sneaking around if I want to," Nandi warned with a playful smile. He was cute. A lot different than the usual guys she was used to. He was that kind of 'bad boy' without being totally off the edge bad. It was kind of exciting because she didn't usually do anything that would get her in trouble, yet here she was up on the water tower with a cute boy. All alone.
--- "I'm better," he told her, leaning over the railing a bit. It was really, really, really high up. "Besides, I've spent all last year and all summer in this place. I know every inch of this campus and all the good hiding places." Turning around, he hopped up onto the rail, gripping it tightly so he didn't fall off and plummet to his death. "I could show you maybe. If you wanted."
--- "We'll see," she said, crossing her arms and leaning against the railing. Watching him, Nandi chewed on her lip with slight nerves. "I'd like that. So long as you get down from here without going splat," she said with a sweet smiled.
--- Hooking his feet under the bottom rung of the rail, Eli let go of the top and leaned back a bit, smirking. "I wouldn't splat," he assured her. "It's not high enough. I'd just break my neck, or maybe just a few limbs... heck, maybe I'd survive. There's grass down there, it's soft enough."
--- "Would you rather spend the rest of your summer dead ?" Nandi asked as she slowly backed away, toward the ladder. It made her nervous that he was up there doing doing, but she wasn't going to let it show. Instead she'd just call his bluff and maybe lead him back down to where they could run around and such.
--- Nandi was chickening out. And even though Eli was totally freaked out that he was two stories high and hanging by his ankles, he wasn't going to let it show. Leaning back more, his hands went to grab the rail, but he stopped himself. "Summer's only today, it's just school now. So I guess I could die and it'd be okay. No more exams, right?" Grinning, he looked over at Nandi, then let himself fall back until he was hanging upside down. "Wow.... shit's weird upside down."
--- "Eli!" Nandi gasped as he flipped upside down. "Get down from there!" He was going to give her a heart attack at this rate! "It's not funny, I'm serious." Why would she not be serious though? Gripping the railing, she looked down at him, biting her lip. What was she supposed to do? Stand there and wait on him? Threaten to tell if he didn't come up?
--- His shirt was riding up his stomach and all the blood was rushing to his head, but it was worth it to see her reaction. Laughing, Eli looked up at her, and shrugged. "I'm fine! I'm not hurt, and I'm not gonna fall. You should try it, it's kinda cool."
--- "I'm not hanging upside down like a bat from a water tower," she said, though she couldn't help but look at his flat belly. Nice. "Eli, please come back up. That's really dangerous."
--- "Sissy," he retorted, but after a minute curled himself up, grabbed hold of the rail and pulled himself back upright. "Okay, okay. I'm up. Don't mess yourself."
--- "I am not a sissy," Nandi said, resisting a pout. "I just don't think it is smart hanging upside down from a water tower." If he could have survived the fall, she would have pushed him off. She rolled her eyes at him before going back to the ladder. "I wasn't going to mess myself, I'm just not that stupid.'
--- "Come in, it wasn't that bad. It was cool." At least, he hoped it was cool. Following her to the ladder, Eli paused, seeing the steps that headed up to on top of the tower, the part that didn't have a safety railing or slip resistant flooring. With a small smile, he headed to the steps, going up a few. "I'm going up further. To the top. I bet you can see all the way to New York from up there."
--- "I doubt you could see to New York from there, but it might be pretty cool," she said as she looked up at it. As if to counter his 'sissy' remark from earlier, she squared her shoulder and grabbed the ladder rungs. "I'll go first," Nandi said as she grabbed the rungs and started climb up higher.
--- With a smirk and a small bow, Eli let Nandi pass by him. If she wanted to try and show off, he'd let her. Besides, the view would be nice as she went up. Watching Nandi swish by, Eli tried not to be obvious in his staring, but... she was kinda pretty. Kinda really pretty. Her butt was very round and shapely, and it bounced just right as she ascended the stairs before him.
Clearing his throat and adjusting himself, Eli followed up after her, trying not to think about her body or the effect it was having on him. Moving carefully when he finally got to the top, Eli tread carefully toward the very apex of the tank, holding out a hand for balance. "Whoa," he said softly, looking around. They were crazy high up, but the view went on for miles. "Okay, maybe not New York, but that's definitely Boston over there."
--- Nandi's balance was heightened from her being a lycan, so she stood happily balanced as she looked around. "It feels amazing up here," she beamed as she spun on her heel and grinned at Eli. "It feels like you can see Boston from here." It made her feel giddy to be so high up. She was used to high places, constantly climbing trees in the jungles of India were her favorite pastime at home.
"Kind of glad you talked me up here," she said looking away as she took in the sights. There was no telling if security would catch them or if this would be their only chance to be up there.
--- Taking a seat, Eli watched Nandi more than the view, since he had seen this town a hundred billion times. Granted, not from this viewpoint, but it wasn't as interesting as this pretty dark skinned girl. Looking her over, Eli smiled a little. The sun was starting to go down, and it was outlining her in a very nice silhouette. "Me too," he said absently, thinking about her waist and her hips, and how her butt moved on the steps, and her long hair, and her full and chatty lips, and her small but round boobs.
Something started stirring within Eli, and he sat upright a bit, trying to will it not to happen. Fuck, he thought to himself. Not now, please not now... But it was too late. The situation below the belt was getting very uncomfortable. "Um, I gotta, I gotta go," he said quickly, getting up and turning away from Nandi. He didn't want her to notice his, um, obvious problem. "I just remembered I got... there's a thing I gotta... I'll see you later!" he shouted over his shoulder, scurrying down the steps as fast as he could get, then swinging his legs over the ladder so fast he almost went piting over the rail. Right now, he would have preferred it over Nandi thinking he was some kind of pervert.
--- "Huh?" Nandi said as she turned to look at him right as he was going down the stairs. That was. . . Weird. "I'll see you later then!" She called, going after him to the stairs. Had she done something weird or wrong? She was more confused than upset about it though. "Boys are so weird," she sighed as she watched him get down the steps and stairs in possibly record time. Shrugging, she let him leave and stayed up there a bit longer, enjoying the night air before going back down and taking her time on getting to her room.
