Hugging. Hug. Beth couldn't remember the last time someone had hugged her who wasn't her parents, and she froze on the spot, arms at the ready but not actually doing anything. Someone was hugging her. It felt awesome but also weird because (from what she could tell) hugs were for best friends and lovers, and Berta was neither. Or was she? Oh crap, were they best friends now?!? How exciting and scary! It kinda made Beth wanna throw up.
Just as Berta pulled away, Beth made the move to return the hug, awkwardly bumping the girl's arms and standing for a few seconds kind of looking like a dinosaur. But quickly the arms dropped, her hands getting shoved into her pockets. "Oh, um, okay then," she mumbled to herself, making a note that next time she was hugged she would return it with gusto. Me gusto, she thought to herself, and chuckled.
Cute? Berta thought she was cute? A small blush crept onto Beth's cheeks. "Um, yeah!" she piped up, feeding a bit off Berta's confident energy (and hoping she wasn't radiating her own awkwardness). "We're gonna be kitted out! Yes!" She had no idea what 'kitted out' meant, but it had to be cool because Berta made it sound cool. "I thought maybe I could... well I have something started already, it's um, well I'm an elf, fighter, but kinda roguish so it's like a jack of all trades kinda piratey like thing... but not a pirate, it..." Now she couldn't remember what the class was called, and that was going to bother her all day. But she could see Berta standing there, and Berta probably didn't care really so Beth cleared her throat. "Um, but anyway. I need black leather gauntlets."
