"Oh, right, you see stuff," Maggie remembered. It was weird since Harlow's ability wasn't something tangible. If Maggie could see or experience it, maybe she'd understand better. "His name is Iron Man. He's super cool. You can ride him sometime if you want."
Charlie finished making the first batch of pancakes, and since Harlow was really the guest here (not Peyton), he served her first, though all three girls got a few of the fluffy bits of yum. They were in various shapes that resembled animals. Peyton rolled her eyes, but that was all. She wanted to eat them! She grabbed the syrup before anyone else could and doused her pancakes. Maggie waited until she was done and let Harlow take it next. She had been raised right, Peyton.. not so much. It was funny, actually, because Peyton and Maggie had one thing in common. They'd both been kidnapped and tortured, but their coping methods were different.
Charlie brought over some bacon and eggs soon enough, and only then did he sit down with the girls. He had a steaming mug in hand which he sipped at. Even though he'd told Harlow that he felt rude just sitting there not eating, he didn't get a plate for himself just yet.
