Who: Jason and Wolfgang, later Cassie When: Around midnight Where: Jason's dreams, his bedroom What: The dhampir gets a surprise visit from his sire. But is it real? IN PROGRESS
Wolfgang, or Wolf as he preferred to be called laid down in his bed and closed his eyes, his mind searching out each and every one of his children. He found Candi rather quickly, her mind always seemed to burn the brightest for him, and after that it was only a small jump to Jason. His beautiful, day walking child, who happened to be asleep. Wolf concentrated on Jason’s mind, slipping inside without much effort, it wasn’t like the boy had defenses he built against him. He picked through his dream until he found the pretty boy. Distastefully he was in dog form but Wolf gang concentrated enough to alter the dream, he had been a dream walker in life, it made him so much more powerful to his children.
He forced Jason’s dream form to shift into human and he walked over to him. “Hello Jason, my you’ve grown up so strong…I’m not surprised considering your mommy’s lovely genes.” He said as he reached out for him.
It was the middle of the night, Jason was curled up in bed after a romp with Cassie and boy did he just need to sleep. That woman was amazing, but demanding. Still, he loved her.
Jason was running through his dream, fully coyote and chasing after something. Only it shifted from him chasing to him being chased. And no longer on four legs but on two. When he stopped, there was someone in front of him. Young, long dark hair and he didn't smell right. He smelled like death. Jason stepped back, as the guy reached out. "Who are you?"
“I’m your sire Jason, the daddy that wants you.” He grinned at him, revealing his fangs and then reached for him again. “Come here Jason, daddy wants to hold you.” He said in a purring tone as he walked closer to the boy, changing the scenery in the dream to a concrete room full of other vampire children all ready to grab Jason and hold him there. Wolf was tempted to use his mother’s image but he wasn’t sure what Jason would do just then.
Jason wasn't sure what was going on, but he sure as hell didn't like it. "Fuck you. You're not my father, sire or any other bullshit you're serving. I don't want it." It's only a fucking dream. He knew that. Charlie had tried to freak him out the other day with the warning and this was his mind flat out running with it. Just a dream to wake from. Jason turned and walked from the dream-image, creating a door in the wall where he could leave.
Wolf shook his head and made the door disappear. “Jason you are my child, you can’t run from that. My blood runs through your veins even thought I know you don’t want it to.” He came closer and was suddenly right in front of him. “You are so lovely, just look at you.” Wolf reached out and touched his face before Jason moved. “You can walk in the sun, an amazing gift, it makes you one of my favourites. Even your mother did not keep that gift, I had hoped by turning an animal it might happen…but by killing her I gained you, so that’s a fair trade in my books.” He smiled calmly as his dream children surrounded Jason again.
Okay. This dream wasn't fun anymore. Jason wanted out of it. He back away the moment he realized he was being touched, the breath catching in his throat when he actually felt the chilled brush of fingers against his skin. "This isn't real," he whispered, as much to deny what was happening as to remind himself.
Wolf smiled at him and wrapped his arms tightly around the boy for a moment. “Oh it’s very real, I’m here in your mind with you child. I can’t get to you physically yet but I can come into your mind anytime you fall asleep, even for just a second…because you are mine.” He murmured as the vampires behind Jason ran their hands all over his back, and ass, and none of them were women.
Jason growled, holding himself tightly so he didn't snap. "Get. The fuck. Off. Me." He shrugged and shoved against the ice cold stomach in front of him, managing to put a few inches between them. "I'm not yours."
Wolf laughed as he let go and shrugged his shoulders gracefully. “Do not fool yourself pretty boy, you are mine. The more I come to you, the more I touch you, the more you think about me; you become mine. Just ask your mother, she fought me hard too. But her I had right in front of me and I broke every bone in her body over and over again to get her to behave and promise to never see you again. But you all do as I say in the end, it’s very hard to ignore your sire.” The other vamps were clinging to Jason but they weren’t fully formed, just wisps to grab at him and to keep him off balance.
It was time to wake up. To get the fuck out of this. "Here's the kicker. I'm not Candi or any of these other weak-willed vampire slaves. Because I've got something you don't." Jason flipped the unnamed asshole vampire off, imagining his bed and Cassie next to him so he could wake up.
“If you say so pretty boy, we can talk more tomorrow…” He laughed and let it claw through Jason’s brain like red hot knives, carving a path that Wolf could follow the next night into Jason’s dreams.
Jason cried out in pain at the knives slicing through his brain, knees buckling. In bed, next to Cassie, he was sweating, all but clawing at his head, trying to get it to stop. This was not a restful night's sleep.
---
In bed, next to Cassie, Jason was sleeping, but it wasn't just sleep. It was a living nightmare. He was all but clawing at his head, trying to get it to stop. The knives slicing through his brain burned like holy, silver fire. This was not a restful night's sleep. A moment later, he bolted upright, sweaty, shaking, panting.
Cassie found something comforting about sleeping next to Jason. It was almost scary how comfortable things were with him. His very restless sleep was not comforting or expected though, and she bit her lip, stroking his arm and wondering if she should wake him from what must be a nightmare, but before the demon could decide anything he woke by himself, obviously shaken. "Shhh Jason, it's ok. You're ok. It was just a nightmare." She cooed
Jason shifted away from Cassie, swinging his feet over the side of the bed, hoping the cold would wake him up. It didn't. It only reminded him of the freezing touch of that vampire. Jason did his best to stop his shaking. It was just a dream. A nightmare. It wasn't real.
Well, it was already better than last time she tried to soothe someone from a nightmare. At least Jason hadn't tried to strangle her. Still, she didn't follow him when he distanced himself a little, just staying where she was. "What happened?" She whispered
Jason shook his head. "Nothing, nothing important." If he told her, it made it important. Made Candi and her bastard of a sire and everything Charlie warned him about valid and important.
"Liar" She joked softly, shifting down the bed to sit next to him, but not touching. "It's cold outside the covers. Must be something to drive you out of them."
Jason reached out, tugging her into his side. He pressed his lips to her temple, breathing in her scent and trying to calm himself down. "It shouldn't drive me from you."
There was a girly squeak and soft laugh as he pulled her in, but she relaxed against him almost instantly. "Mmm I'll agree with that." Cassie murmured, putting her hand over his.
He sat there, holding her tightly for the comfort. That dream was so vivid. Normally if he dreamed at all, he forgot it almost instantly. Not this. This stayed in his mind. Haunting him.
"I'm not going to make you talk about it if you don't want to, but I am here if talking it through would help." She was trying not to be pushy but she wished there was something she could do to help.
Jason sighed, trying to think. "I don't know. I don't know if it means anything, or if I'm just letting things get to me."
"You're talking to a woman. We let all sorts of silly things get to us, so no judgement here." Laughing, she bumped herself against him.
The corner of his mouth quirked up, though it wasn't exactly a smirk. "I dreamed of her sire," he said softly. Maybe it would help to get it out.
"Ah" She nodded. That explained some of it already. This mysterious sire was already bad in her mind, with everything she had heard. She couldn't imagine Jason's nightmare version was any better. Still, she'd never know if she didn't listen, so listen she did.
"I was running. Chasing a rabbit. Then I knew I wasn't chasing, I was being chased. And I wasn't on four legs, I was on two. Then I was in a room." Jason was rambling, he knew it, but that was what dreams did, right? They went everywhere. "He was there. Young. Cold. Dead. Saying something about being proud of me. Wanting to find me."
"Crap!" Cassie muttered under her breath. If this more than just a nightmare, if this really was his/his mom's sire, it sounded like Charlie and Candi were telling the truth, and there really was a threat to Jason here. Dammit! "I'm sorry, that wasn't helpful of me. Do you think maybe it was... more than just a nightmare? Candi did seem worried about something like this happening..."
Jason wrinkled his nose and shook his head. "No. It was just a bad dream and I'll forget about it later." Already he was forgetting some of the details, the faces. Just how cold the hand was against his cheek. Turning, he faced her once again, tugging her into his arms. "I'm sorry if I worried you."
She really hoped it was just a bad dream like he said, but she still worried. Cassie went willingly into his arms, smiling softly to him. "Don't apologise for anything. You're the one affected most." She said before kissing him gently.
Returning the kiss, he tugged her into his lap, burying his head into her throat for a hug. Slowly, he could feel his pulse drop back to a normal rhythm. "Thanks," he murmured.
Cassie absentmindedly played with his hair as he held her, concentrating on sending soothing vibes like she had been learning and ignoring her worry so that wouldn't spread. "Nothing to thank me for. I just want you to feel safe and happy." She murmured back
"I've got you. So I'm both." Jason kissed her neck and stifled a yawn, his teeth just pricking her skin. "Let's go back to sleep, hmm? It's the middle of the night."
There was a small, happy shiver from the demon as she felt his teeth, but it was followed by a yawn of her own. "Sleep is good. Sleep and warm in your arms under the covers is even better." Cassie agreed, climbing off his lap and waiting for him to get back in bed so she could settle against him.
