Wesley shifted a little bit uncomfortably when she mentioned Garret. He’d had an amazing night with him on Thursday and he didn’t want her to accuse him quite rightly of being a hypocrite. However that was precisely why he was worried. He was flirting with Riley, too, and he had the freedom to explore. It was a man’s desire. But a deep seated one of Wesley’s was to love and be loved in return. Just simple. Be with someone. There would be a time he regretted favouring playing the field.
Hope was being so damn cute, though, and it was hard to resist. With a small sigh he looked at his lap. “I’m still not ready. I’m still hurt, too. So while you’re being honest and nice and flattering, I still hear those words in my head just rattling around pulling at the strings in my head...” He closed his eyes then. “You hit a nerve that’s still shaking from impact, Hope.”
