The last thing she had expected was for him to kiss her. Sure, they had kissed before, but this was like a real kiss. Hope whimpered into it a little and then just sort of melted. But the kiss didn't last nearly long enough and she almost felt what was going to come next before it even happened, like he was already saying it in the way that he kissed her.
"Then just..." Hope exhaled a sigh. "I can't care about that anymore, Wes. I really can't. And I don't want to. I mean I tried, I was going to try, but then it didn't take. And it won't. I mean I can't..." Hope closed her eyes for a moment, trying to sort out what she was trying to say to where it would make sense.
"I know what Godric thinks." She finally said, opening her deep, brown eyes to look at him seriously for a moment. "And I know you probably know it too because I'm sure that he told you but even if he's right, and I don't think he is, it doesn't change the fact that I don't..." She shook her head softly. "I don't feel the same way with anyone else as I do with you." Glancing down she added, "It's everything else that just... sort of feels like make believe."
