Candi tossed her blonde hair out of her face and made her way down the field on her four inch stiletto boots. She walked down the center of it towards her son, not really caring that she was interrupting the other people on the field. All Candi cared about was getting closer to her son, she was concerned over what he would say and do, she did leave him behind after all...even if it wasn't her fault. Her sire had painfully insisted, but now he told her that she should know her son, which made Candi suspicious of his intentions. However he gave a direct order to seek him out and talk to him, tell him who she was...so she had no choice she had to talk to her son.
Jason was on the field, running around and practicing with a few of his teammates. The way they played was so much more fun, since it allowed them to make use of their abilities. He could tackle without holding back, test his speed when running, make larger-than-life leaps to catch the pigskin all because of his breeding. He was working on running towards the end zone with the shouts came. These weren't the normal calls, but more frustrated. Slowing down, he turned to see the problem. A woman on the field? From the looks of his friends, they didn't know her either. So why was she headed straight for him. Jason frowned, trying to work out this puzzle. Couldn't be too bad if security let her on site.
Candi smiled slowly when she realized her son was looking at her. She wouldn't have caused so much trouble if she walked down the sidelines, but then everyone wouldn't be looking at her would they. As she got closer to Jason her hands started to shake, her boy was so perfect, she loved him so deeply, and was highly suspicious as to why her sire wanted her to put herself into the young man's life. "Jason?" she asked with a questioning lilt to her voice, knowing full well it was. A few more steps and he would scent her, she knew that but Candi was just a bit nervous for his reaction.
She knew his name? That only deepened his frown. "Yes," he answered hesitantly. "How can I help you?" She looked friendly enough, so Jason started forward to greet her. Within two steps he caught her scent on the wind and his feet froze mid-step. It was so familiar. The first part he caught was the thick ashy taste of corpse dust so common in vampires, but below it all was the sweet reminder of home. Of lycan. Of pack. Shaking his head, he backpedaled a step, knowing who she was if not her name.
She looked at Jason for a moment, a bit concerned and then pushed forward. "Jason...do you know who I am?" Candi asked softly as she came even closer but stopped before she would touch him. Lycan's liked to touch, but if he didn't want her near him than she seriously doubted if he wanted her hands on him. "I just want to talk to you." She said calmly.
Jason shook his head slowly, ignoring the calls of the guys on the field. "Twenty two years and now you want to talk?" He huffed a breath that sounded suspiciously like a snort. "I don't know what you were expecting, but a warm welcome won't be it." Turning his attention from her, he threw the ball back at the other players. "That's it guys. I'm out."
Candi glanced at the other men yelling to her son, wanting to bear her fangs at the smell of them, she could eat every last one of them, the bloodlust and the animal inside her begging for that kind of release, but instead she turned her sea coloured eyes to her son after he spoke. "I am aware of that Jason, you have every right to be upset with me, even though I didn't leave you by choice."
Jason did snort this time. "I'm not faulting you for that. If you had stayed, you would have slaughtered far too many in the pack. I blame you for the time between." No, that was a lie and Jason sighed, rubbing sweat from his brow. "No, wait. I don't blame you. I didn't care then, and I don't care now. I'm sorry you've wasted your time," he finished politely, turning to walk away.
"Jason, wait." She said quickly as she moved to stand in front of him. "Yes I would have slaughtered many in the pack, i had no control that night when I woke...but he ordered me to stay away from you, all of you...it's the most frustrating bond...I can't go against what he says even when i hate it." She frowned and then looked at her son. "I'm not expecting puppies and rainbows here, but you are my son and I do love you and I'm allowed to see you now, so I came, needing to see how well you've grown up."
Jason rocked back on his heels and braced himself instinctively, catching himself right before he moved into a defensive stance. He didn't understand what she was talking about. Who was 'he'? The Alpha? The bastard that raped her twice over with his body and his bite? "Well now you've seen me and if you don't mind, I'm going back inside." He skirted around her, telling himself he didn't care if she followed or stayed as he headed back to the dorms. If she'd just come to see him, she'd be gone soon. Campus security wouldn't let her stay.
Candi sighed and crossed her arms under her chest. She had no idea what to tell her boy, her sire may have ruined any chance she had with her son. "then I guess I will see you in classes Jason." She said softly as she started to walk back up the field, flashing a seductive smile at an interested boy or two as she walked behind him.
Once more, Jason halted, slowly turning on his heels. "What do you mean," he asked carefully. "That you'll see me in classes?" This couldn't be good.
Candi stopped and shrugged her shoulders at him. "I'm a teacher here Jason, Lycan Lore." She said as she flicked her hair out of her face when the wind blew. "I know it's a surprise but I need to be here right now." She said firmly.
Jason glanced over at the field where people were watching them. They suddenly got busy playing when they realized they'd been spotted. Jason was going to have some questions to answer later. Dammit. "Why?" The question came out more sharply than he wanted, testifying that he wasn't as unaffected as he pretended.
Candi sighed and then shrugged again. "I wanted to share my experiences, and I wanted to be around you Jason. I know you don't believe me or even want me here right now but I can't leave, not now that I've seen you." She could have told Jason she had no choice that her sire was forcing her to be here but that was a conversation for another time.
Jason was being an ass and he knew it. That wasn't who he was, so he sighed, rubbing his arms now that the March chill was trying to creep up on him. "I need time to work through this. I'm...gonna go." It was the most polite way for him to tell her he needed space. This was a lot to take in at once.
Candi nodded at his answer. "I understand." She said with a small smile and motioned for him to go. "I will stay out of your way for now." She said softly and then smiled fully at him, not flashing any fang as she turned to walk in the other direction.
