Who: Charlie and Hope
When: Saturday night
Where: Emmet's on Beacon Street in Boston
What: drinking
Charlie had put Maggie on lockdown since she arrived, and she was supposed to stay that way until Monday when he was putting her in classes. But he needed to get out and drink and get his mind off shit, so he called up Starbuck and asked if she could spend the night there. Thankfully, the guy was really cool about it and welcomed Charlie's niece without hesitation.
After dropping her off, he caught a cab into the city. Charlie knew his way around Boston fairly well, but he didn't have his car or bike back just yet, so he was forced to take cabs. It sucked, but he had no other choice. It took longer than he would have liked, smelled funny, and the music playing was terrible. Charlie was thrilled to finally arrive at Emmett's. He tossed the driver some cash and got out, smoothing his shirt once he did.
There was a time when Charlie dressed quite nice for a night out drinking with a woman. Those days were over. He definitely looked worse for the wear. Relaxed jeans that were well worn in the knees and ass, a plain white button up, and his leather jacket. That was it. No flare. No extra effort. His hair was kind of a mess too, and not in the sort of way that took an hour to perfect. All and all, it was obvious he didn't care all that much. He strolled inside and looked around for a familiar face while also letting his nose work. He could smell Hope's presence before he could spot her.
