Who: Nico and Lyle When: Early morning Where: Nico's bed What: Nico has a coherent moment
Nico had been in an out of consciousness for days now. He was pretty much delirious each and every time that he woke up, greeted by basically the same thing every time he woke up; Lyle sitting next to him, looking as sick as he felt, worry marking his expression, attempting to get him to eat or drink something which he rarely could. He had no idea how many days had passed, whether it was day now or night, but he knew when he woke that he felt more coherent then he had in what felt like forever, though that worried him a great deal more than he would admit.
The scenery upon waking up was a bit different this time than it had been before. Lyle was there, next to him, and he was awake, but he had this look on his face, this sort of distant and far away look, as he stared off into space, unaware that the other man was awake and watching him. Nico was silent for a long moment, simply watching him, and then he spoke, his voice cracked and strained, barely audible, but he knew the other man would hear him. "I'm not going to die." He felt like he could, like he might, but he was determined not to. "I promise I won't. I'm not going to leave you." Of that he had already made up his mind.
