Who: Cassidy and Finn When: Evening Where: Mostly her dorm room What: Finn plays knight in shining armor. Status: Not quite finished yet
Cassidy was SO sick. She had never in her life felt this terrible and she hoped that she never would again. But that didn't stop her from finally dragging her ass out of bed after days of not being able to move. It was Tuesday night, but she had no idea what day it was, and she felt and looked like hell. Still, she was worried about Ari. And about Elfred too. And Adam. Of course Adam had family here so she just assumed he'd be fine, the others two though, not so much, and that was why she'd decided that she had to go and check on them. She'd managed to tug on some clean clothes before she'd headed out to find them both, stopping first by Ari's room to find him gone, and then toward the stairs to head up to find Elfred. Clinging onto the wall, each step was a struggle, but she was doing okay until she came to the stairwell. She had no idea how the fuck she was supposed to manage this. ~~~ It was a pretty good day for Finn. Talking to Ash the day before, no one dead, soup passed out and heat kept up as much as possible. He was doing his rounds in checking on people when he got to the younger student dorms. Of anything, they were the ones that needed the help the most. They weren't as strong as some of the older people around there and they would have the most trouble fighting off the sickness. So he made sure to do double rounds for them. Getting to the next floor, he was about to walk right into the hallway from the stairs when he caught sight of a girl, about mid teens, just standing there looking up the stairs. "Hey," he said softly, not wanting to spook her. "Hey, are you okay?" He asked, slowly stepping towards her, just so he didn't seem too weird and make her freak out like he had accidentally with another sick student. Of course that was because that guy was hallucinating from fever, but you could never bee too sure. ~~~ The voice caught Cassidy off guard, but it didn't really scare her. She was too sick and too tired to get scared. She glanced bac over her shoulder toward the source and then looked back toward the stairs. "I need to... to get up there. My friend is..." Every word was a struggle, and she suddenly felt incredibly woozy and a bit floaty almost. Her eyes rolled back in her head and she was out. ~~~ Oh he knew that look. He'd seen it many a time in a bar when a guy had had too much and he'd seen it a time or two here. Quickly, he rushed over and grabbed her, just before she got too far. "Whoa, whoa, whoa," he said as he let his knees take the weight and bounce back up. "Hey," he said softly. No reaction, not even when he gently shook her. "Shit," he grunted as he hefted her up and got her back into the warm hallways at least. Looking around, he saw an open door. Seemed she was forgetting several things. At least it was in his favor. Walking over, he took her to her room and kicked the door open further so he could get in. Setting her back down on the bed, he tucked her in. "You need to stay in here, kiddo," he sighed, pausing to make sure shew as okay. ~~~ Cassidy wasn't quite aware of what was happening, but sort of. She knew she heard a voice and felt hands and then she was just kinda floating. All of a sudden, it wasn't so cold anymore and she could feel someone's warmth against her own. And then there was the bed. She recognized the way that it felt, and that soothing voice was nearby. But then another wave of nausea washed over her and she started to struggle to get up out of the bed, trying to get somewhere, anywhere, before it happened. She failed miserably. Cassidy threw up in the floor and then fell in it. That was when she started to cry. ~~~ "Shit," Finn grimaced as he went for the trashcan. Shit, now she was crying. Pulling the trashcan over, he set it in front of her before hurrying to the bathroom and looking around for some wash clothes. Hitting jackpot, he grabbed several and wet a few down while grabbing a towel. "Here," he said as he sat her up and started to clean her up as best he could without being creepy. Which was hard as she was crying in her own puke. "Hey, hey," he said softly, deciding to turn on that charm. "Look at me," he said, gently turning her head. "I'm here to help you, so I need to you to focus a bit, okay?" Finn said, making her look at him in the eye. "I'm going to help you clean up and feel better so you can get some rest," he said tucking hair behind her ears and away from the mess. ~~~ Cassidy had never in her life had anyone take care of her, not that she could remember. Growing up, if she was ever sick, which she never was, she would have been expected to take care of herself. If she complained about needing something, she'd be punished. So this was definitely a change. She sniffled as she looked at him, feeling awful and looking just as bad, which she knew, but couldn't even really care right now. "I wanna... to take.. a shower." She could barely get the words out through her crying. She felt awful and dirty, especially now that she had puke all over her, and she couldn't just stay this way but she couldn't do anything about it on her own either. ~~~ Oh. . . Fuck. . . Um. . . What did he do? "I'll do what I can," he said, looking up and making sure that the door was closed. Oh he would possibly get very fired for this, but. . . Fuck. "Here," he said standing up and helping her up onto the bed. Taking the warm washclothes, he cleaned her up as best he could, but there was still the matter of the mess in the floor and her clothes. "I'm going to take you to the shower and get it started, can you get yourself in okay?" He asked, really not wanting to have to take her clothes off. ~~~ If anyone decided to fire him for helping out someone who was too sick to help themselves, then they were just stupid and she would tell them that if she wasn't dead by then. Cassidy was still sort of crying as he helped her back onto the bed, shivering almost uncontrollably as she sat there and just let him do what he needed to do as she didn't have the energy to do it herself. "I don't.. I dunno," she replied honestly. "I can... I can try." She just wanted to feel better. She'd do anything to feel better right now. And she was convinced that a nice, hot shower would help. Somehow. ~~~ "Okay, just. . ." He paused. "Hold on a sec." Making sure that she wasn't about to just fall over, Finn hurried to the bathroom and turned on the shower as hot as he dared. He didn't wanna burn her up. Getting it nice and steamy without scalding, he came back. "I'm gonna help you to the bathroom, okay?" He said as he eyed the puddle of puke he'd clean up in a moment. Right now he was going to get her to the bathroom. Easily picking her up, he carried her to the bathroom and helped her out of her clothes except her underwear. He kept his eyes otherwise occupied though. "I'm gonna help you in and you should just have a seat, so you don't fall," he said. The bottom and wall was well warm by then. ~~~ Cassidy nodded her head and waited. She wanted to lay back down but... she was gross and then the bed would be gross and she couldn't change her sheets. So she forced herself to sit up until he came back for her, feebly attempting to hold onto him as he picked her up and carried her into the bathroom. Any other time, she would have felt totally odd about getting naked in front of some guy she didn't even know, but right now she didn't think about it at all. She just wanted the pukey clothes off of her. She nodded her head when he told her she should sit down, and then attempted to peel off her underwear, nearly falling again in the process. ~~~ Oh for fuck's sakes. Finn caught her, again, and took a breath, pulled on his big boy pants and just undressed her fully. Underwear and clothes tossed aside, he got her in the shower and sat down before closing the door partially. Then he got to work cleaning up a bit before she got out. Puke was cleaned up and clothes were grabbed as well as towels. ~~~ "Thank you," Cassidy said in a small voice as he pretty much sat her in the shower. The water felt good. It was nice and warm but it kinda made her cold. Like the very second it began to slide off her skin, it would be almost too cold and make her shiver. She was sure that was just the illness though. She tilted her head under the stream of the water and just sat there, too weak to even grab the soap. And then she cried some more. She felt so very rotten. ~~~ Oh God, she was crying again. When it was appropriate, Finn could just hug a girl and cuddle with her till she felt good, but this was something that was waaaaaaay over his range of comfort. "I've got your clothes and towels for when you're done," he said softly, looking at the floor and hoping that he got a bonus or something selfish after this because it was the only way he could feel not as awkward about it. ~~~ Cassidy took a few minutes to get herself together, trying to reach the soap to at least wash off a bit but it was too far. Fuck it. At least the puke was gone. She spoke up in a small voice, "I'm ready." She was going to try to get up on her own, but she just couldn't. Even thinking about trying to move her own weight right now made her exhausted. She was as weak as a newborn kitten at the moment. Was that how the expression went? ~~~ Reaching in he turned the water off before grabbing a towel and wrapping it around Cassidy as he pulled her up and sat her on the toilet while he did his best to dry her off. At this point, there was not avoiding anything, so he just made sure everything was dried off as he helped her into clothes. Keeping the towel around her hair as best he could, he helped her back to her bed. "Any better?" He asked, making sure her hair was rung out in the towel and put aside so it wasn't sitting in her bed making her colder. ~~~ This guy was really sweet. He didn't even know her and already he had done more for her than anyone else ever had in her entire miserable life. She tried her best to help him out when she could but she was pretty useless and she knew it. She felt bad for being so helpless. Thinking about it almost made her cry again, but she was trying to keep it together. She nodded her head in response, shivering in spite of all his efforts to help her stay warm. "I'm sorry," she said in a small voice, then sniffled a bit.
