Who: Devon and Haddon When: Evening Where: Devon's dorm room What: Haddon comes to forewarn the medium.
Haddon was used to not being seen, walking through the halls of the TJS building, listening to prattling conversations and passing unheard comments to students' dumb ears. The only reason he was here was because of Will, and after befriending Devon he kinda had another person to visit, so that was nice. Speaking of, where was the little medium? He had news to tell, that the kid would probably really wanna know about, and he was excited, nervous, and anxious all at the same time. Floating through Devon's dorm door he quipped a little "Hey Big," in reference to the Tom Hank's movie, before settling down on the bed. ~~~ Devon was doing homework. He was trying to catch his mind up with his body which wasn't exactly an easy task. He was still mentally six in some ways and he was struggling but he was determined and a determined McCafferty never gave up. Pouring over an English book, he had a frown upon his face when the voice caught him off guard and caused him to jump. "Shit. You scared me." He was used to ghosts floating in and out of his dorm room, but usually he ignored them, and they didn't speak when he didn't indicate that he could see them in any way. But Haddon was different. He closed his book and gave him his full attention. "What's up?" ~~~ Of course Haddon was different. He had been around Will for too long to stay the weedy little type. It was clear that he had something on his mind as he settled, though, thumb in his mouth nibbling at his nail and glancing around at the walls. "You got a nice place... made it your own." His soft, barely-there Irish lilt spoke quietly which was odd for him. "Just thought I'd drop by. Nicest place around here..." ~~~ He looked nervous, and that made Devon arch a brow slightly as he glanced around the room. "Uhm... not really." It was kind of bare, and it was odd to have someone remark on it in such a way when that was clearly not the case. "What's up, Haddon?" He asked again, this time indicating in his tone that he knew there was something more to all of this than him simply wanting some nice place to hang out. ~~~ "Believe me, you should see the state of the other rooms, Will's for instance looks like he left a bombsite..." Which was probably understandable seeing as he hadn't been back there in weeks. Haddon looked a little surprised when Devon questioned him, but he didn't show too much. That was a trick from Will. "What do you mean? Nothing's up." ~~~ Devon smirked a little and then muttered, "Sounds about right." Will was like a bombsite in and of himself so it was understandable that his room would look like exactly that. But then he lied to him and that just annoyed the medium. He scowled that McCafferty scowl and replied simply, "Bullshit." And then he grabbed his book once more. "If you're going to pull that card, I'm going to go back to doing my homework now." ~~~ Haddon had watched Devon a lot, had literally watched him grow up. He knew that smirk, what it meant, the same way he knew what that scowl meant. It meant swearing was about to occur, and he was proved right. Sighing, the spirit looked to the side, contemplating and letting Devon begin his homework again, before he spoke again. "It's not something I can tell you... kinda limited to what I can say, I'm not meant to, y'know.... give secrets." ~~~ Devon wasn't really reading, just waiting and pretending to read, so when Haddon was done not talking, Devon put the book down and gave him an incredulous look. "I'm a medium. All you dead people DO is tell me your secrets." He frowned. "That and bug me to do you favors amongst the living." And then he sighed as he asked, "You want me to do a favor for you, don't you?" ~~~ Haddon's big brown eyes looked to Devon with a seriousness that probably hadn't shown in them for a long time, not since the night he died... it was a scary thought, but still... "This isn't my secret to tell. This is something that's going to happen, that's probably already started happening... you need to take care of Will... and... don't be worried?" he said this almost as a request. "I know you'll look after him, but don't.... when it happens, don't panic..." ~~~ That serious look made Devon tense up slightly, a knot forming in the pit of his stomach that was not at all alleviated by the words he had to say after. A brow quirked and Devon frowned, lips pursed tight. "When what happens?" This didn't feel right, not at all. "Haddon, tell me what's going on." ~~~ Hearing things from both sides and trying not to relay information was kinda... odd. But when Haddon was tuned into events like this he needed to mention something. "People are starting to get sick... you might not, cause you're mostly human, but it's - from what I can see it's gonna be bad." ~~~ Devon furrowed his brows in a frown, considering those words. "That doesn't even make sense. Wouldn't I be the one to get the MOST sick because I AM pretty much human?" As far as he knew, from his lessons anyway, supernaturals didn't really get ill. ~~~ Haddon shook his head, gravely, sighing a little. "It's not targeting humans. It's supers that'll be effected... it's already happening..." He ran a hand through his hair, sighing. "I'd go find Will but I dunno where he is... I know where he'll come though." ~~~ An illness that was targeting supernaturals. That was... well, it had to be a first, right? Devon frowned, thinking about all of this for a moment before he replied, "Either he'll come here or he'll go to Syn's." He'd want to check on both of them. And Devon needed to check on him too. And Blue. She was a vampire so if it was targeting sups, it'd probably get her too. ~~~ Syn's or Devon's... he would most definitely seek solace with Devon first, then go and find Syn. And Haddon's Look indicating that was as such. "Just find him. And... don't panic, when it happens... please. Please don't panic when it happens..." ~~~ Devon was already prepared to get up and go hunt him down. He was halfway to his feet when Haddon issued that warning again and again that tight knot formed in the pit of his stomach. "When what happens?" He was getting ill, right? He already knew this. But what else could happen that would make him panic? ~~~ Haddon appaeared to be incredibly apprehensive about advising him of anything else, like he would be bitchslapped if he said anything further. He stood, heading towards the door, clearly at war with himself. "It needs to happen.... just be there for him. Don't give up on him. And don't... leave his side." ~~~ "What needs to happen?" Devon asked, moving toward the door in a vain attempt to stop Haddon from leaving. He was a ghost. He didn't even have to use the door and if he wanted to all he had to do was walk through Devon. Still, Devon was freaking out about this. Haddon seemed to have something more that he needed to know but he wouldn't tell him and if he wanted him to not panic, then he needed to clue him in a bit more. ~~~ "If I tell you, I'm dust!" Haddon snapped, frustrated both that he couldn't say anything and that the kid kept asking. He did stop, because it was instinct to stop, but he knew full well he'd be disappearing through him soon enough. "I mean ghost dust! I know you're worried, but Devon I needed to prepare you.... for... FUCK just go find him." As Haddon filtered through Devon's form, vanishing from sight, the sounds of coughing filled the hall as the first of the sick began to emerge from their rooms. ~~~ Devon flinched ever so slightly when Haddon yelled at him. And then the guy walked right through him and he always hated the way that felt. It made a shiver race up and down his spine that left his skin crawling. "Fuckin' hate it when they do that!" He yelled, and then followed Haddon out into the hall. Of course the ghost was gone and in his place were the sounds of coughs, a few doors opening, people looking confused and worried. But Devon was sure that none of them looked as worried as he did when he took off down the hall in search of Will.
