"That's irrelevant," he informed her before nodding in agreement with her suspicion. It did seem like the flu, but since when was there a flu virus that struck the supernatural community? He supposed it was possible something strong enough had evolved to hurt supernaturals, but if that was the case, then it was likely to kill all humans. Their immune systems would not be able to handle something this severe.

He smoothed his hand over her head, feeling that she was slightly cool to the touch. He'd turn the heat up a little more. Nox could always cool off by taking a cold bath if needed, but he didn't want Belle getting too cold.
When she went off to the bedroom, he managed to gather himself up for a walk to the kitchen and fetch a cleaning bucket from the floor of the pantry closet. He moved slowly and carefully, keeping close to the wall for support as he walked back to join Belle. Nox put the bucket on the floor by her side of the bed and then crawled in with her, wrapping his arms around her.
