Frankie hadn't expected Ava to unload all that baggage, but maybe at least show some appreciation for the fact that someone cared and wanted to understand. Frankie reached out as a show of compassion. She was trying to be nice. That's all.
The sprite was about to protest when the money was returned to her, but the mention of food made her reconsider. "Okay.. um.. thanks. For everything." It was really nice of Ava to pay for the cab and offer Frankie a place to stay the night. Hopefully, the roads would be better in the morning, and Frankie could get out before she overstayed her welcome.
Frankie felt a little weird staying in someone's house without him even knowing about it, and she was reluctant to make herself at home. But when she spotted the fireplace in the living room, she ran over to it. The sprite dropped to her knees and examined the quality of the wood logs inside. They were plenty dry and ready to burn. "Do you mind if I get a fire started?" she asked, looking over her shoulder at Ava.
When Frankie got approval, she set to work on arranging the logs better. No offense to whoever had placed them in the fireplace, but they clearly didn't know as much about building quality fires as Frankie did. It only took a few minutes for the crackling light show to begin, and Frankie started to peel off her many layers as the room warmed around her. She was still wearing her work clothes, they were simply hidden under a lot of other clothes. Frankie stripped down to the point she was just in her jeans and a long sleeve Henley shirt.
