It was hard not to look sad as they talked about Ingrid. She was sad, Lyle could feel it, almost in his heart he could feel it. She smiled, but it never reached her eyes, it didn't sparkle like it used to. He loved Grid more than he could possibly say, more than he actually understood. He wished that he could fix everything for her. It was kind of funny, though, how Nico had picked up on it. Most people who saw him and Grid together since they broke up didn't think he cared much about her. Probably because most people didn't actually pay attention to what they saw.
Moving closer to Nico, Lyle stared him down, his gaze intense and unyielding. he was looking for something, or seemed to be, bright blue eyes piercing into the other man's. You are normal, he said finally, daring to pat Nico's knee. Just in a weird way. Giving his roommate a smile, Lyle leaned toward the coffee table to grab the remote. There was only so much of The Doors he could take.
