Who: Davia and JC
When: Saturday Night
Where: A Club
What: Dancing. Duh!
Considering Jin-Sang had never gone to a club before, he found this pretty entertaining and enjoyable. When he wasn't dancing, he was watching everyone else while drinking some alcohol or another. He wasn't a big drinker, so most of his glasses were filled with Coke unless he was feeling up to something a little more adventurous. At the moment he was fine with his cola, taking a long drink and finishing off the black caffeine with an 'ah' following. The glass was then left behind on the counter as he pushed his way through a small cluster of people to find his coworker.
He had to admit to finding her attractive. The way the strobe lights flicked, neon colors flaring around the room, they seemed to light Davia up like a super star. Jin-Sang grinned as he heard "Lovestoned" come onto the speakers. He wasn't a big fan of Justin Timberlake, but he knew an alright song when he heard one. Instantly the club started to bounce with the beat. JC's eyes wandered around, not bothering to hide the glances at a group of women dancing together. People here were out to have fun. How nice.
"'cuse me," called the Korean over the sound just as their was a 'tss' in the music. Two men who had been attempting to dance with Davia looked at JC. Manners just wouldn't do in a club, it seemed. He sighed and shook his head, eyes looking up at his 'date' for the night to see if she noticed him. It wasn't as if he was short, he was average height like the rest of the men here, but he didn't make it a goal to be noticed. However, his discrete moments were shattered as he reached in between the two men and grabbed Davia's hand. They just had to make him do everything the hard way.
"I hope you don't mind," he teased when the blond was close enough, smile on his face once again.
---
To say that Davia was a complex person would be an understatement. At school, in class, even in dance class, she was quite reserved, rather proper. If anything, she had a reputation for being a bit cold and uptight. But when she was in the right location, such as a night club, all of that changed, and she became this social butterfly that she could never seem to mimic elsewhere. It was almost as if she went away and someone else stepped into her body, but it was all her. She was just more comfortable with herself, more sure with herself, in a place like this than she was elsewhere.
And this was perhaps why people flocked to her, or men did at least. When she was out on the dance floor, especially alone, she had people come at her from directions wanting a piece of her, which was fine most of the time, but sometimes they got a little too close and a little too hands on and while she could handle that, that didn't mean that she liked it.
So when JC's hand stretched out to take her own and pull her towards him after the subtle approach didn't work, she was quite grateful for it. "Don't mind at all." She draped her arms over his shoulders as she moved in close and found a rhythm with him. It was nice, the way they seemed to fit, at least on the dance floor.
"So how do you like it?" She was having a blast and really hoped the sentiment was a shared one. She could stand to do this again some other time.
---
Her arms around his shoulders, Jin-Sang rest his hands on her hips. They did fit together quiet well. As a dancer he noticed this, too. It helped that he didn't feel entirely awkward whenever their hips touched. Such was the dance of the times. It was not a nearly as pleasant style as a formal ballroom dance in his opinion, but he could hardly hate it. Smiling at Davia, he nodded in reply.
"It's fun!" he called over the sound. The song carried on, the middle being remixed into something obnoxious yet dance worthy. Jin-Sang glanced around before finding the vampire's face again. She was very pretty. He could see into her eyes and stared at her soul for a good time. The song ended and another snapped on, loud and piercing. He grinned as the music's pulse beat through his body. This was his kind of music. A pop/hip-hop mix. If he had to freestyle, he was going to do it right.
But not here. There were too many people in the club, it was too crowded. Instead, he followed the groove. "You have a way," he said. It was a compliment, really, JC was just very unsure as to how to phrase what he wanted to say.
---
Davia grew up on formal ballroom dancing. And then, when she was older, she was introduced to the more racy form of dancing that went on in night clubs. She preferred it. While she could still appreciate a good ballroom dance or a tango or something of the sort, she liked this. She liked the energy. She liked the way that it made her feel, how it sort of took her away from herself and transported her somewhere else, into a completely different person.
"I'm glad!" She called out over the music. She had worried that he wouldn't really care for the scene. It wasn't for everyone. And the she noticed him looking at her, and she felt a bit of that shyness that she normally felt wash over her again. Her cheeks flushed a little and she glanced quickly away, watching the change of movement in those around them as the song went seamlessly from one to another.
Finding that rhythm again, her attention moved back to JC as he spoke and she smiled though she looked a little confused. "A way?" She asked, though she could probably infer how he meant it. "I love this. The energy and the sweat and... Becoming one with the crowd." She needed to do this more often. She felt more like herself right now than she had since she came here.
---
Her inference was correct. In complete honesty he wasn't sure how to describe what he saw, what he felt. It was just a vibe he picked up when she danced. Hell, he had practically felt it when they walked through the door. This was definitely more her scene than the school, that was for sure. And in turn, it certainly wasn't his. But he blended in quite well and was enjoying himself--was that not the point of this outing? Other than to get to know their styles, of course.
"I wish more people could feel like this," said JC. He had to lean in a bit to speak more into her ear and forgo looking her in the face. The song was progressively getting louder. Was there a need to make it that loud? While the Korean could appreciate good music, even loud music, this was ridiculous. His head felt like there was something sharp being driven into the base of his skull.
God.
Shame he couldn't get away looking awesome with his hands over his ears. He sighed once he backed away from Davia so he wasn't breathing down her neck and decided to just deal. Maybe his ears would go numb. Then all of his problems would be solved! But alas. . .
"Is there somewhere here I can break?" asked Jin-Sang after a moment in which he looked around. Davia was a vertical dancer from what he could tell, but he was an all angles sort of guy. If only there was a floor around here. This crowd was too thick and he couldn't see passed anyone. Davia needed to see what he could really dance like.
---
Why she felt so in place in a place like this when she felt so out of place everywhere else other than at home with Charlie or with his family, she hadn't the slightest idea. Maybe it was because here, she was just a part of the crowd, and elsewhere, at school, she was the central focus. She wasn't entirely comfortable with that. It was easier when it came to being a stripper though because it wasn't really her that was on the stage, but the persona that belonged to her stage name. Either way, she really liked this, even liked how loud it was, unlike her companion. She loved being able to feel the beat pulsing through every inch of her body.
"I've met a lot of people who don't like this sort of thing at all and it's like... are you crazy?" Davia laughed, the words practically yelled in his ear in order to be heard over the music. She hadn't stopped moving since the minute they had entered the place and had even managed to work up a little bit of a sweat which was no easy feat for a vampire.
"Uhm..." Davia arched up on her tip toes to look around and see if she could spot a place that would be appropriate for that sort of thing. "What about the upper stage?" She pointed it out. It wasn't entirely uncrowded, but it was less crowded, and once he started, she was certain that the crowd would part. "I'm game if you are." Not that she would be the one break dancing, but she could certainly help him push the crowd back if he so desired.
---
He liked to feel the beat as much as she, but the music didn't need to be this loud. You could practically feel your bones shaking. Jin-Sang always thought it was a very bizarre idea, let alone feeling. Smiling, he gave a nod. People thought he was crazy all of the time. That hardly fazed him anymore. Once you got used to being of a different race than human, insanity was normal in comparison.
"Crazy's not a bad thing!" he shouted back, shaking his head. JC only stopped dancing to drink. While he was like a fish in the water, he wasn't so much so outside. Choking on a glass of Coke was just not a great idea.
Turning his face to the stage, white teeth flared through the flash of strobe light as he grinned. "That'll work!" he said, nodding, and starting toward the stairs. This was going to feel so good. He could practically see the motions going through his head as he started up the steps. No more 'excuse me's' came from him, he had a destination whether people wanted to help him or not. By the time they reached it, however, the song had stopped. For a moment he was disappointed, but a better tune came on and he could only look back at Davia.
"Watch and learn," teased the younger of the dancers as he stepped away. He was like an entirely different man as he rolled his shoulders, head dropping back to loosen up. When Jin-Sang's feet hit the floor, he was off; it felt good. The song was one of the perfect types for his style of dance. The underlying beat having a deep bass he could pop and lock to. Yet several times while he was dancing he looked over at Davia, giving a motion for her to come dance with him.
---
"Depends on the level of crazy." Davia had met a lot of people that really pushed those limits. Like Caibre, for example, someone she thought about every time she was in a place like this one. Of course this was more of a club and less of a, well, den of perversion than the place near Halcyon had been. Still, that was the whole reason why she didn't drink. That and the fact that she sometimes got a bit... bitey when she had a little bit of booze in her.
Davia could feel her stomach tense up a little when he agreed, starting to get excited even though she wasn't going to be the one on the dance floor at whom everyone would be staring. She was excited to see the way that he moved though, outside of the classroom. She could tell when he danced that he was being somewhat reserved, at least to an extent, when he was teaching. It would be interesting to see his free form.
A brow arched slightly as he teased her and she took a few steps back with the crowd that began to part so that he would have room to move. She wasn't exactly standing still herself, but she was only really bouncing to the music at this point in time, watching him with a huge grin upon her face as he found the beat and put those guys in the hip-hop music videos and all those dance movies to shame.
Davia honestly had no idea what she was doing but she found herself out on the dance floor with him, watching him as she moved, attempting to mimic his movements, though she found herself laughing at herself more often than not just because he was, quite literally, dancing circles around her.
And that was when she decided to bust out some of her own moves, the ones she had learned when she was a "professional", which involved a lot of hip action but a lot more movement on the floor than was, perhaps, expected. But she made it work with what he was doing, and it didn't take long before there was a crowd around them watching and cheering them both on.
