Nox used to think that demons born on the earthly plane were better off, because they never had to go through that awkward transition, but he'd come to view his struggles in a different way over time. They made him stronger, and it showed that he had courage and the ability to adapt. He wondered if demons born to this world would even be able to survive in Hell.
Shaking his head, Nox clarified. "No, it's an expression. You don't literally walk around in their skin. Instead, you imagine what it must be like to live as they do. In what ways would you act differently had you been raised to believe in their gods, to believe that demons and hellhounds were fictional, to believe that you were the dominate species. Sometimes they come off as arrogant, but I think they're simply a young race. We should treat them more as we treat children. Children make mistakes, are ignorant of many things, and are very self involved. They don't really understand the world around them, because they haven't explored enough of it, and they haven't been around long enough to know all the secrets it holds. In many ways, they're innocent."
They reached the staff building, and Nox opened the door for June, motioning for her to go ahead of him.
