Who: Declan and Keely What: Christmas time celebrating! Where: Declan's apartment When: Evening Note: Incomplete
Keely may or may not have gone over board with Christmas decorating. Especially at Declan's. Her own apartment consisted of green and red glass bottles hung from the ceiling, twinkling lights all around. If her regular lights were off, everything would look like glass or ice. Paper snow flakes hung among the bottles, though her orange couch made it less than a wintery wonderland. Declan's place though. . . That was a whole other beast. She went above and beyond and did it all in a day when he was working. Sneaky she was. So now she just had to wait and then, surprise! Hiding in the walk in kitchen cupboard, she held back giggles of either insanity or glee as she waited for Declan to come home. Miniature snowflakes in one hand and tinsel in the other, both ready to be tossed at will.
Declan had been working since early that morning, pulling a double shift to cover for those who needed to go Christmas shopping or visit loved ones for an afternoon, so he was thoroughly exhausted. His gifts had already been bought, wrapped, delivered to whoever needed them and hidden others, but he had yet to decorate his apartment and right now he wondered if he'd have the chance. Maybe after a quick nap. Climbing the stairs took a little longer than usual because he was tired, but he finally made it to his floor. Opening the door, he paused, having to check the number on the front to make sure he'd walked into the correct one. Yes, this was his flat. Slowly, he closed the door behind him, taking in the tinsel, snowflakes and sheer mass of color. He hoped it was his imagination putting the Santa in the corner.
Hearing the door open and close, Keely held her breath for a moment before carefully opening the cupboard door and creeping out. Years of stealth practice at getting Declan and he family was paying off as her barefeet made not a sound. Slowly, she got behind him as he took in the sight of Christmas throwing up in his place. "Surprise!" She shrieked throwing the snowflakes and tinsel in the air above them.
Declan turned just as Keely through the glitter and shapes, crying out in surprise. "What on earth?" He finally managed to see past the tinsel to the grinning redhead. "Ye decorated for me?" He slowly grinned, thrilled at the knowledge his best friend cared enough to decorate his home.
Hair sparkling with the decorations that had landed on her, Keely grinned and nodded. "O' course! I decorated me own, but yers was much more fun!" She beamed as she as bounced on her feet slightly. "Some o' me things didn't exactly go with Christmas, but yers was more applicable! Like yer plants and look! Ye got a ladder tree!" Grabbing Declan's hand, she dragged him over to it where there were several gifts laid under the 'tree.' "Isn't it beautiful?" She whispered, her body nearly vibrating from excitement and the four cups of coffee she drank in the past few hours.
Declan, though he was physically exhausted, felt wide awake following a bubbling Irishwoman through his flat. "It's lovely, LilBit." Now he had a place to put his gifts. Smiling, he wrapped his arms around Keely's shoulders in a hug. "Thank ye."
"I'm glad ye like it!" She grinned as she returned the hug, around his waist though. It was tight and loving and almost koala bear like. "Ye want some dinner? I have some already made, but in the fridge. I made it a few hours ago and the scented oil heated candle thingies covered the smell."
Declan leaned back to smile down at Keely. "Aye, dinner sounds lovely. What'd ye make?" He was practically famished and could use a good meal. Declan's cold sandwich from lunch had run its course, leaving the dryad hungry and willing to eat even Keely's cooking.
"Roast beef to use for sandwiches with sauce and chips," Keely said as she bounced into the kitchen, turning the oven on to warm so she could reheat the aujue sauce, meat, and sliced potato wedges. "Ye have a hard day? Ye were gone a bit longer than usual," she asked as he came in.
Declan went to the cupboard behind Keely, pulling out plates and silverware from the drawer to help out. "Aye. Nothing really difficult, just long. I pulled a double so one of the lads could go shopping and visit with family." He set the table then turned to help get things out of the fridge.
"Aw, aren't ye a sweetie?" Keely cooed as she took a small baking pot out and put it inside the oven with the wedges and put the sauce on a burner. "I got a call from Ma. She sends her love and well wishes for Christmas," she said as she took a moment to breath, while still bouncing and making the snowflakes and tinsel in her hair fall out a bit onto the floor and counter. Not that it was noticed either. Keely was far too wired for that.
Declan noticed, and since he didn't want gold tinsel in his roast beef, he laughingly tugged Keely around. "C'mere. Ye've got sommat in yer hair." He started plucking out the tinsel and snowflakes, oblivious to the ones decorating his own head.
Squeaking as she was pulled over, she made a face as he started to pick decorations out of her hair. "Ye do too! Pair o' monkies we are," she giggled as he picked the bits out of her hair before she hopped around and onto a chair to get his hair. "At least we're not eatin' them."
Declan laughed again when Keely had to stand on a chair. "Ye do realize I could have knelt down for ye?" Of course, that would have put him nose to her bellybutton. Maybe her on the chair was better. Turning slightly he saw that it left him eye level with a perky Irish bosom. Oh boy.
"Too easy," Keely said, not paying attention at all to where his eyes were. "Besides, this means I can see the sauce and ye hair too," she commented before clapping at her success. "Done!" She said before looking down at his eyes, then down to her chest that was currently slightly showing a bit of clevage. "Ye starin' Dec," she said before kissing his head, turning around to hop down.
Declan blinked and shook his head when she finally climbed down. "Well now, can ye blame me?" He was a man after all, though a fairly inexperienced one. He was only technically no longer virgin and he most certainly had not done much with a woman. Cherry had offered, but he hadn't taken her up on it. Dusting off the footprints, he took a seat in the chair Keely had vacated.
"Nope," she chirped with a grin before hopping in his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck. They had not done much in the bedroom, but the couch had seen plenty of make out action. It just didn't feel right and Keely wasn't one to rush something like that. "Like ye can't blame me for starin' at yer pert behind," she grinned giving his bum a playful pinch.
Declan arched a brow, a bit surprised. "Now why would ye be staring at me arse when ye've a perfectly fine one?" To prove his point, he dropped both his hands to grip her ass, squeezing and settling her a bit more securely on his lap.
"Cause I can't look behind me all the time unless I'm usin' a mirror!" Keely sighed, like it was such an easy answer. Squeaking, she giggled as she shifted to lean in and kiss him softly. "Our first Christmas, think we should tell home or let it sit more here?"
Declan kissed her back, just a press of his lips to hers. "I think they can wait a bit longer, aye? Let's have Christmas for ourselves this year and we'll tell them later." Feeling affectionate, and finally getting more comfortable with the idea of kissing his best friend, he leaned forward to kiss her again sweetly.
"Before ye know it, they'll be invading like vikin's," she giggled before he kissed her. Humming softly, she leaned into it, enjoying it. It was getting easier and easier not to giggle or just go for full force when kissing Declan. At first it was either go for gold or it turns into her giggling because she'd want to sit on him and tickle him instead of kissing. Well, now there was just less tickles and forcefulness.
