Who: Billy and Dalyn
What: Reunion!
Where: Main hallway of the education building
When: Wednesday afternoon
Rating: PG
Status: In progress
New jobs always made Billy exciteable. He loved trying new things, meeting new people, finding himself in new circumstances. And he especially liked working in supernatual places, because then he got to see all the different races living together and not having to hide themselves. It was wonderful. And he had never been to New England before, so that in itself was worth being giddy over.
After checking in at the main office, making sure he got all the clearance and id cards and everything scanned in that he needed, Billy was wandering the halls to the main education building, gathering his bearings and really just being in awe of the place, when he noticed someone who looked vaguely familiar. Walking toward them, squinting a bit, the face suddenly became very familiar, and a grin spread over his face. This face was one that you didn't forget, not ever. It was too unique. "DALYN!" he squealed, dropping his suitcase and racing down the hall, quite speedily, until the skinny twink was wrapped in Billy's arms. Lifting Dalyn clear off his feet, Billy hugged him tightly, twirling around a few times. "Oh my God OMIGOD!!!"
Dalyn was bored...again. He wasn't a big fan of this place, not that it was bad but he felt like an outsider in huge building of outsiders. He sighed as he pulled himself up onto a window ledge and just watched as everyone scurried around outside. Last week had been insane, and he was thankful the spell hadn't affected him, of course he had been off campus hunting so thank god he had decided that night to take off for awhile.
He sat there flicking fire at the end of his fingers trying to decide what the hell to do with himself when someone screamed his name. Dalyn looked up eyes wide, and looking in the direction of the voice. He narrowed his eyes at the person and then before he could say a word Billy was hugging him... "oh...whoa there....come on now...no touchie remember." He said with a slight laugh as he started to untangle himself from the other man.
---
There was no stopping until Billy was good and ready. With a final spin, he let Dalyn down to the floor, his grin huge and bright as he looked the other man over. "Wow... you look exactly the same. Which is good, I promise. Really good." Actually, Dalyn looked a lot better, he looked well fed and rested. Not the naked somebody Billy had gotten down from the tree in Louisiana. "I am so glad to see you!" Bouncing a little, a thought suddenly came to him. "OH NO!" he gasped. "Oh... you probably have no idea who I am!" Oh God, he had just mauled this guy, and Dalyn probably had no clue who he was!
---
Dalyn just sighed as the other man decided to swing him around and then start babbling all over him. He lifted an eyebrow at him and did his best not to smile. Dalyn tried never to be too emotional, it was just a waste of energy in his opinion...but this guy he was like a constant bubbling font and it was amusing and tired at once. He blinked slowly as the other man continued on like he knew him and even though he seemed vaguely familiar Dalyn couldn't place him. He shook his head slightly when Billy said he had no idea who he was. "You're vaguely familiar but I just can't place you." He said as he crossed his arms over his chest.
---
"Oh God I am so sorry!" Wow, this was horribly and awfully embarassing. Poor Dalyn! Covering his face with his hands a moment, Billy shook his head, blushing. "Wow, that's really... sorry. I just saw you and I was so excited and... I should've known you wouldn't remember me. My name's Billy, we met in New Orleans? I pulled you out of the tree, you were naked."
---
Dalyn cleared his throat as Billy apologized. "No really don't worry about it, I have a horrible memory." He shifted back and forth from his toes to his heels rocking a little as Billy continued to babble. He smiled at him as he spoke but then when he told him how he knew him, Dalyn groaned and slumped against the wall. "Oh yes let's remember that I was naked..." He frowned and shoved his hair out of his face. "Yeah I remember you now, you were really nice to me." He said with slight smile.

Ah, now Dalyn remembered him! He could tell because of the blush on the other man's face. Billy giggled, shrugging his shoulders. "Well it's hard to forget a naked guy in a tree," he said simply. That wasn't the only thing Billy remembered about Dalyn, but it was probably the most prevelant. "You looked like you needed a friendly face, and smiles are free so I like to give 'em out." And then it occurred to Billy that he was talking to Dalyn in a supernatural school. "Wait, you're... what are you doing here?"

Dalyn raised an eyebrow at Billy and bit the inside of his cheek, the guy was like a male version of Pollyanna which was odd but it seemed to work for him. "Yeah it is hard to forget a naked guy in a tree." He frowned and then flicked his hair out of his eyes again and smiled at Billy. "I'm a freak obviously. I can control fire and I'm a were-leopard, a snow leopard to be exact." He said emotionlessly. "That's how I got in the tree I think, I shifted for the first time and the leopard took over and climbed the tree to keep me from drowning."
---
Dalyn's story was touching, and a little sad, and it payed out beautifully on Billy's face. Poor Dalyn! Right in the middle of a tragedy, he was experiencing a part of himself for the first time and it probably scared him to death. Billy wished he had known, he might have been some kind of comfort. No wonder Dalyn had been so meek and shy. "I don't think you're a freak at all," he said softly, before smiling. "I'm really glad I found you again. I always wondered where you had gone, what you'd done with your life. I always figured you would end up someplace interesting."
---
"You're entirely too nice Billy you know that?" He said with a sigh and then shoved his hands in his pockets as the other kept talking. "Well It's nice to know that someone is happy to see me." He half smiled to himself and then raised an eyebrow at Billy. "I have anger issues and would lash out at people and things and they finally sent me here hoping it would help. So I guess I ended up some place interesting, I suppose." Dalyn said frowning slightly. "But why are you here?" He asked curiously.
---
There was no such thing as "too nice". Nice was just something that came naturally, so how could there be too much of it? That was like saying the Earth had too much ocean. "I could understand why you would be angry, that's a lot to go through," Billy said gently, his attention totally on Dalyn. He knew that he had been lucky to have his family's support, but a lot of supernaturals had to figure it out on their own. Apparently, Dalyn was one of the unfortunates.
"Oh! I'm working on security!" Once again, he was chipper and bright, bouncing on the balls of his feet. "Someone had a heart attack, thank God he's okay, but he can't work for a few months so I'm covering for him."
---
There was such a thing as too nice in Dalyn's world, it usually meant that the person was after something...but Dalyn knew this wasn't the case with Billy, he was genuinely this nice, so he tried to keep his suspicious nature in check. He hadn't been one of the very fortunate freaks, his parents had helped the best they could but Dalyn had shut them out and then they were gone in the flood waters. He cleared his throat when Billy said he was working security and then nodded. "Sounds good for you, right up your alley." He said with a small smile and then chewed on his lip.
---
Nodding enthusiastically, Billy grinned at Dalyn. "It is. I've done temp jobs all over the place, a lot of them in Canada but I've been staying in America for the past few years. It's really nice! I've found a lot more supernaturals around here, but maybe Americans are just more open about it. But anyway, enough about me. All I've done is work and such, what about you? What have you been up to? Oh! I should probably grab my bags and not leave them in the middle of the place where people can trip on them." He took a few steps, turning around to face Dalyn as he walked. "Wanna come help me find my place? Then we could do dinner or something, and you can tell me all about what you've been up to!"
---
Dalyn nodded as Billy told him where he had been and then went off on his tangent about the american's being more open, possibly. Dalyn didn't know, he really didn't care much though, but he listened and smiled like he was interested...it would have been rude otherwise and the last person he was going to be rude to was the guy that helped to save his life. Dalyn didn't bother to answer his question because Billy flew off to get his bags. He shrugged his thin shoulders and nodded. "Yeah sure I can help you." He said, staying non committal about dinner, Dalyn was not a social creature.
---
Dalyn wasn't a social creature, but Billy didn't see that as a problem. He could be sociable enough for both of them! "Thanks!" he grinned, waiting for Dalyn to follow along before walking back to his suitcase and backpack. "This place is huge, I don't know how I'm going to find my way around." Grabbing his things, he flashed another grin to Dalyn, then started off in the direction of the staff apartments. "So what have you been doing with yourself, anyway?"
