Taking Rorie's hand, Garret got up from the tub, heading out with him back to the living room. He had won Rorie over, and he would stay. Mal would probably stay, too, if Rorie would. And this was good. It didn't have to be perfect, but it was a good start. It was something.
Things seemed all the more promising as they walked into the living room and caught Mal and Max in a sickeningly cute embrace. And they were smiling. They looked like a father and son, and it was too adorable to live. "Wow," Garret grinned, squeezing Rorie's hand and shaking his head.
