"I'm fine, Vinnie," she stressed. Maybe Fox didn't feel the need to stand behind her, but she felt the need to put herself in front of him. She moved her body between the men, shielding her non-fireproof ex-boyfriend. Frankie could feel the heat coming off Vinnie, and she knew he'd been holding back for a long time, all the rage building over time. Frankie didn't want to let it come out right now. Vinnie could yell at her later. He'd never hurt her, just yell, but she worried he'd hurt Fox.
"Fox, please go," she begged, glancing back at him as she tried to take the novelty ax away from Vinnie. Frankie noticed that the plastic was starting to melt in his grip.
