Who: Reggie and Tatienne
When: Evening
Where: Reggie's Room
What: The siblings speak.
Tatienne had gotten the email from Reggie quite a while back. She had intended to reply but.. She simply couldn't think of what she wanted to write. She didn't know what to say to him. She didn't know him at all. That wasn't to say that she hated him, but that wasn't to say that she felt any sort of kinship towards him either. She just felt.. nothing really, neither like nor dislike. It was all still up in the air. Just because he was family, blood, didn't mean that she had to care. And the fact that her father had left her for his mother, well, let us just say that that did put a slight damper on their potential relationship.
But that didn't mean that she wouldn't put forth a little bit of effort to at least get to know him before she decided if she cared about him or not, before she answered his question as to whether or not she hated him. And it was the decision that she would give him a little bit of her time before judging him that led her to be where she was right now, standing outside of his room in the boys' dormitory.
Mathieu was with the nanny, as he should be, just in case things went bad. And she knew that Reggie was inside the room because she could feel him there, just as easily as she could feel her father, or any other member of her bloodline, whenever they were around. He was resting. The sound of his heart wasn't beating quickly enough for him to be doing anything else. A pale hand reached up to knock upon the door softly, a few raps given in warning before she just opened the door. He was alone. She knew that too. And hopefully decent, not that that really mattered. The Laroque family didn't have quite the same sense of morality as a human family would.
---
Reggie was in his room, alone, and just laid out on his bed. He was tired, no not tired, but exhausted. For the past week now he and his father had been training together. Training as in Adrien wearing little Bastian's ass into the ground, and then some. Not to mention, that on top of all that Reggie was going to his football practices. Between busting his ass playing ball, busting his ass training with his dad, hand to hand combat, and weapons, and learning how to control and use his demon abilities, Bastian jr, was to say the least, dead. There was no energy for him to argue, to run around and find trouble to get himself into. He wanted to do nothing right now except just lay there on his bed. Most of the training was easy, Reggie was a bit banged up from his father, but he could handle that. Playing football since he was just a young boy helped him in that sense. What was a bitch was all the focus it took when it came to creating the fire inside of him, and controlling it. Now that, that right there was a challenge for Reggie and he hated it.
The only reason he was doing any of this without putting up a fight about it was because his father had already explained to him, that if he didn't shape up, he was going to be shipped out. Shipped over to go stay with his grandfather, and after having held an hour conversation on the phone with the man Reggie would much rather deal with his dad then to deal with that man any day of the week, month, or year. So Reggie resentfully complied with his father, and just sucked it up. His father however, was consuming so much of his time that he barely had time enough to go eat, and point in fact, tonight, Reggie was skipping dinner. So, he laid on his bed, dressed, but only wearing a pair of dark blue basketball shorts, and a white wife beater. His shoes and socks still on his feet as well. He was sweaty, tired, and just looked like he'd been through hell and back.
When he heard the knock, he sat up quickly, thinking that it was his father, but a sigh of nothing but relief came from his lips when he saw who it was. " Oh, it's you. The girl who cant say hi, cant say go fuck yourself, or even I hate you, now go kill yourself. " he said, and then laid back against his pillows. " So, what brings you to my room? Feeling the mood for some KFR? You know, Kentucky fried Reggie? " He asked, but then there was a little of a grin that tugged at the corners of his lips. He'd never admit it, but he was happy to see her, and happy that she came.

Tatienne had only ever been around the boy just the one time but she could tell him point blank that he could not handle their grandfather. If he thought that Adrien was bad, he was sorely mistaken. Their grandfather made Adrien look like Mother Theresa. But she would never resent the man. He had made her the strong woman that she was today. She could take on other demons twice her breed and double her age and leave them feeling her heat. That was what he had taught her. She was wise well beyond her half-blood race and her years thanks to him. But a boy like Reggie... He would kill him. And from the looks of it, Adrien was giving him a hard way to go. That was clear the moment that she entered the room. And she knew it had to be her father. She could smell the man all over him, and not just because he was Reggie's father.
"If you are going to pass judgment before I even have the chance to speak, then I will gladly turn around and walk out." Her voice was soft, her accent evident but easily masked. Her English was impecable. And she gestured towards the door as she spoke, looking back at him with a brow thinly arched as she waited for him to tell her to leave. He did not, and she knew he wouldn't. He wouldn't have reached out to her had he not been curious and curiousity would prevent him from saying something that would cause her to turn around and go.
Tatienne closed the door behind her after a moment had passed, then crossed the room over to the bed where he lay. She climbed onto it beside him but towards the foot of the bed, resting upon her knees, hands folded within her lap as her pale greens peered at him, studied his features, looked for anything that was remotely similar to her, to her father, to her brother, her grandfather. "You must look like your mother." She remarked, tilting her head to one side. "Other than the line of your jaw, the structure of your face." That was very much like their father. "You're short. Like me." She glanced down at her hands as she fidgetted. "At least I'm not the only one."

Reggie didn’t want her to go, so he didn’t tell her to leave. Any other time of course he would have been his usual stubborn self and regardless of if he wanted her to go or stay he would have told her to go if that’s what she wanted. “ I wasn’t passing judgment. “ He replied and then just moved slowly to sit up as she crossed the room and came over to the bed. He swallowed hard, and cringed with pain. His entire body ached from training with his father having not even healed from the day before and already now, he was banged up some more. His father said that what did not kill him would only serve to make him stronger, and being his son, he would need to be strong.
Reggie’s eyes just gazed upon his sister, he looked at her as though she were the most beautiful thing that he’d ever seen in his whole seventeen years of life. He was captivated by her presence, and his eyes almost hypnotized by her beauty. She was speaking, and her voice.. it was just as soft and beautiful as her appearance. Her accent so luring. It was like she was.. a goddess or something. He smiled at her and just sighed. “ you’re..” he started to say, but felt at a loss of words. As though any word he could use to describe her beauty wouldn’t compare. “ You’re like sin, in the flesh. If that makes sense. Not lust, just, you’re so beautiful that there’s not even a word in any language that’s suiting enough for you. Wow, I cant believe we’re related. I walk into a room, and people leave, you walk into a room, and guys and chicks would like, you know bow down at your feet. “ he said, unable to look away from those soft green eyes.
Reggie smiled, and then nodded. “ Great things come in short packages. “ he said with a grin, and then just, he just sat there in awe. “ I’m sorry if that offends you.. it’s just that sin, you know everyone sins, everyone wants what is sin, and when I look at you.. sin comes to mind? “ He smiled a bit awkwardly and shrugged his shoulders. “ you’re… wow. "

He could have been stubborn and she would have just gone, but she was glad that he didn't as well. He was no Tristan, nor would he ever be able to mean as much to her as he did, but she missed having a brother around, and since he was taking his sweet time coming here, Reggie would have to do. Maybe that was unfair, for her to compare him to the other boy, her twin, with whom she was raised, but every man that she met was compared to him and/or to her father. He would just have to get used to it.
The way that he looked at her was not entirely unfamiliar. She was used to garnering that sort of response from the men that she met. She had been told many times that she could be a model, in spite of the fact that she wasn't very tall, or even an actress, though she had no desire in such fickle things. And she had no care about whether or not men, or women in some cases, found her attractive. But it did benefit her from time to time. The way he worded it, however, made her laugh softly.
"I am not offended." Tatienne assured him as she glanced up at him once more, watching him as he watched her. "He is not taking it easy on you, is he?" She asked after a moment, referring to Adrien of course. "That is my fault. I've not spoken with him since the first day. I've been avoiding him." She frowned slightly. "You knew about me? About Tristan? Growing up?"

Being compared to another man? That wasn’t something Reggie would have to get used to. Not at all, it was something he was very familiar with. He felt in his heart, and mind that he had always been compared to Christian. Always walking in that guys shadow, this with his sister wouldn’t be anything new to him. He already figured that no matter what, he’d never measure up. Not to Ami to Christian, not to his father to his other two children, and certainly not to Tatienne to her other brother. Her twin, the one she’d grown up with. Sad, but the story of Reggie’s life.
“ Okay, cool. I figured I’ve already insulted you enough, you know when we first met. I’m sorry about that. I was just hungry, and you were in my way, stopping me from getting to where I wanted to be. “ He said, and then winced with pain. “ He just wants me to be..like him, I guess. I can handle him though, I have all my life. He’s, I don’t know. He’s my dad, so I gotta just suck it up, and deal. “ Reggie shrugged. “ I figured as much. Ever since you got here he’s been on my ass. Paying way too much attention to me. I just figured it’s because you’re avoiding him like herpes. “ Reggie laughed.
“ Yeah, well kind of. I’ve seen pictures of you both. Dad would talk about you, well, when he wasn’t himself. Growing up with him has been like growing up with two dads. Sometimes he seemed almost human, and other times.. like a diabolic asshole. “ Reggie shrugged. “ He said one day I would get to meet you, but that day never came, well, till when you showed up here. Funny, cause I always wanted a sister. I don’t know why dad left you, but I’m sorry..like I said, I hope you don’t hold it against me, because I didn’t ask to be born, and sometimes, I really wish I hadn’t been. “

That was sad, but there were harsh realities in everyone's life, and that was his. She wouldn't feel sorry for him if she knew about it, about how he felt. If anything, she would probably laugh at him and tell him that, if he wanted the girl, to have her. For Tatienne, it really was that simple, but she didn't grow up with the same ideas, the same morals, the same code of conduct, that humans did.
"I understand." Tatienne wouldn't be very happy with someone stopping her from getting where she wanted to be, which was the same thing that he did to her, stopped her from getting where she was going, which was why she lost her temper as well. That and there was the shock of it all. She had not expected to find her father, much less this brother that she had no idea existed. "I am angry with him. He deserves to be ignored for a while." Even if Reggie had to suffer because of it.
Shifting in her seat, she unfolded her knees from underneath her and situated herself upon her butt on the bed, her legs crossed indian style before her. "So he was telling the truth then? About... being ill? Being two different people?" That was good to know, but it wasn't going to make her automatically forgive him. "Why would I hold his actions against you?" She asked, shaking her head softly. "That wouldn't even make sense. And you shouldn't say those things. A Laroque should never wallow in self-pity." He needed to learn that even if he may not consider himself, nor have been baptized to be, a true Laroque.
---
Reggie had been raised with human morals, in a Christian like home. At least it’s what his mother wanted. She took him to church, read from the bible to him, and saw to it that he attended bible studies, and was involved with a youth group when he was younger. His father didn’t agree, but he never said much. At least not around Reggie’s mother. When the two of them were alone, that was different. Still, as crude as Reggie could be at the end of the day he was more human then demon. He had a lot to learn, but Adrien would have it no other way, and Reggie would learn a lot of new things.
“ Yeah, he pisses me off all the time, and usually he just leaves me alone, and I don’t bother trying to talk to his ass. Not the past week though. Fuck, I wish he’d get off my nuts already. “ Reggie sighed. “ uh, being ill? I don’t know about all that. He’s just moody, I guess. Needs to get laid. “ Reggie didn’t know nothing about his dad being sick, all he knew was the guy just seemed like two different people sometimes. “ I don’t know, I mean I guess if I thought my dad was gone and then years later I found out he had a new family.. I don’t know what the fuck I would think, but I’d be one pissed off mofo. That much is fo’ sho. And it’s not self pity, it is what it is, and that’s how I feel sometimes. “ Reggie said, and he looked a bit confused. “ Yeah, well I’ve always been A Skyler. Bastian Reginald Skyler. Guess that’s the difference between us. You’re the one side of dad, and I’m the other. “ Reggie shrugged. “ it’s all good, I aint hatin. “
---
If he were to tell her about that, about how he was raised, then clearly she would be utterly and completely baffled. That was not her father. He would never stand for such a thing. His son? His flesh and blood? In a church? Only if it were to slaughter a few of God's soldiers. She would never believe it, never. And she would be forced to believe, to recognize, that he was in fact ill and that there were two sides of him. And those sides were very, very different.
"I apologize that he is taking his frustrations with me out on you, but I appreciate the fact that you understand it." And he was only venting, not yelling at her, or something of the sort, for her causing their father to be so overbearing. The mention of him being a Skyler made her frown deeply. That was not her father's name, and she wouldn't care to be associated with that name in any way, shape, or form. She was quite proud of the family that she came from, the long line of vicious demon-kind from which she hailed. She would never care to taint that and, honestly, she couldn't believe that her grandfather had allowed her father to carry on this lie for so long.
"I will deal with him soon." The words sounded almost ominous, even though they were spoken in that same soft voice that she always used, her tone eerily calm. She seemed to zone out for a moment before she simply turned her gaze towards Reggie and announced, "I must go now." There was no explanation given before she pushed herself up to her feet and made her way from the room without as much as another word uttered. She had some planning to do, however, and she couldn't be bothered with displaying sentiment where there was no sentiment required. She didn't know him enough to care and there was no use in pretending like she did, or at least that was how she felt about it.
