Sooner than later, Vinnie was going to find out about her feelings. She made a promise she wouldn't break. This wasn't the kind she could ruin, not to him or herself. He deserved this after being the sweetie he was. Vinnie was so kind and chivalrous, patient, helpful, cute. . .Perfect. For a moment she realized she had been zoning out, listening to him just talk and tell her what to do.

"I brought extra scrunchies," she said and held up her right wrist. There was a blue scrunchy around her wrist. Then, smiling, he took the ball as he passed it over with her. It bumped her foot and she took a step with it, scooting it along. Watching the black and white roll, she gave it a light kick and set it skittering off to the left. Zevira chased after it, a bounce in her run because she had never developed the serious run. She would--give her a few minutes.
Once she got the ball again, she looked up at Vinnie and gave a wave. "Want it back?" she asked with a smile.
