Who: Loghan and Rocky
When: Mid-day Wednesday
Where: Outside and then his apartment
What: Hanging out
It wasn't until after noon that Loghan woke up from a heavy sleep, lazily sliding his legs into the first pair of jeans he found on the floor. A quick smell check and they were on, pulled over his hips, buttoned and zipped. Fortunately the first few days back had been quiet, even if he'd arrived a little late considering the start date of classes. It didn't really make a difference considering his role. More than anything TJS was just a place that housed him rather than leaving him alone in the world to roam, despite his occasional wanderlust. He'd disappear during breaks, escaping to far off places in search of something, some part of himself or clue as where to find it before coming back 'home'. Bare feet met the grass and dirt as he stepped outside of the staff building, a short walk from his first floor place to the outside world - the way he preferred it. His shirt had only just been pulled on over his head, hands tugging the rolled up cotton of his gray t-shirt down over his chest and stomach. Fingers pushed through his hair, in an attempt to push it away from his face, but it was always in vain as a couple of strands dropped back over his eyes. Vivid greens rose up to embrace the day and immediately spotted the blonde walking past, recognizing the walk and body language before anything else. Rocky really was blonde and he was beside himself at just how well it suited her. Catching her gaze, his hand rose up in the air just barely above his head, offering her a nonchalant wave in greeting.
Rocky felt like a walk. Not necessarily because she was hoping to bump into her dear groundskeeper friend... well maybe a little. She was surprised he was back and it was sort of bittersweet. On the one hand his running off with Cherry had left a bad taste in her mouth. He'd wooed her and been the nicest guy in the world and hadn't touched her even when she was willing.... she'd believed that she'd found a guy who liked her for who she was rather than her assets, only to have him disappear with the knowledge he'd shacked up with the slutty professor.
Still. He was back. Cherry was.... not with him. And hey, he'd been good company. He was fucking hot. She wanted a sneak peek at his tan, and she found herself walking the grounds near to his place when whaddaya know - he was out and about. Returning his wave Rocky added a little 'hey' to her greeting. Shit. He was still fucking hot, even more so than she remembered.... bad Rocky. "Welcome back."
Her welcome naturally brought a smile to his face, gaze lowering to the ground between them for a moment like an awkward teenage boy. He didn't like that she made him feel that way, it was uncomfortable and he was unsure of what to do with himself. It was the same feeling Molly, "Cherry", had given him before he discovered who and what she really was. The weariness of being scorned again would always linger in the back of his mind, but Loghan wouldn't allow it to take presidence over his interactions with Rocky. She was a student anyway and by all means off limits to him, a rule he mentally enforced regularly when in her presence, despite the natural flirtation that came about when with her. "Thanks..." He, finally responded, meeting her gaze. "So what's new?" Smile continued to tug at the corners of his mouth, wanting to further compliment her hair, instinctively wanted to reach out and touch it, but he decided against is at the last minute. It was inappropriate and he didn't want to creep her out.
It wasn't too obvious, the way Loghan reacted around her, but Rocky noticed it. It made her feel good. In fact it was probably the only thing without touching men that made her feel good, or powerful, or worth something. As he became slightly shy she allowed her gaze to wander before smiling brightly, shoving her hands in her jeans pockets with a shrug. "Ohh... y'know. Brother got married. I'm still... here. That's about it," she chuckled, stroking a strand of hair behind her ear. If he had done it for her she wouldn't have minded but she wouldn't have been responsible for her actions (jumping on him and kissing him generally). "You? When did you get back?"
Lo mimicked her in shoving his hands into the front pockets of his jeans. It was safer than leaving them about to potentially touch her whenever the instinct rose up again. "Oh nice, congratulations." He gave a nod of his head, his words obviously sincere, as usual. "I got back on Saturday... took my sweet time coming home." His smile faded a bit, the real reason he hadn't arrived back on campus when the semester started, like everyone else, was because he'd been debating coming back at all. Finally deciding that Molly couldn't chase him away from home, he'd returned, trying to not feel bitter and just move past the experience that'd made it all too clear he hadn't been good enough for her. "How was your summer?" He'd immediately distract himself from it by tossing a new question at Rocky, preferring to hear about her than be reminded of his crummy summer.
"I'll say...." she chuckled. He had taken his sweet time in getting back. She hadn't realised but she had missed his company. He was so unusually shy and retiring for a guy that it endeared him to her. Always a bad thing. Though when he asked about her summer she was thrown a little. There wasn't much that she really honestly remembered.... "Well. I was dragged to LA by my honorary brother, he's called Fisher, and he asked me to do some music with him, so we recorded some stuff... then it was my birthday, most recently, and people got me some shit... it was kinda stressful in between to be honest but.... I'm talking too much bullshit." She laughed, blushing slightly.
"When was your birthday?" That was the thing to stuck out to him the most from what she'd shared. Her birthday. It only made him wonder how old she was and if it'd been a happy celebration. "I'm sorry I missed it... I'll have to make it up to you." Bad idea, Lo. He knew it. The two times they had spent time together had been dangerously enjoyable and he found himself forgetting that she was a student almost all of the time they spent together. "No, you're fine, I like listening to you talk." His stomach clenched realized what an ass he was making of himself. Chewing on the inside of his bottom lip he worked to focus his brain back on the small talk, but it was starting to feel like all was lost.
Rocky had to reach out and brush a finger against his chin when he looked so damn nervous. The first contact. It was a weird and somehow dangerous game. "August," she smiled, feeling more relaxed around him now. How could she not when he gave her that smile and assured her she wasn't a babbling idiot? "You don't have to make it up me.... hell what am I saying? Yes. Buy me gifts please." With a pleased grin she reached out and gently nudged his arm. Playschool flirting. "So! Seen any good movies with hot girls lately?"
The hairs on the back of his neck stood up at the touch of her finger to his chin. 'Don't touch her.' His internal coach reminded him over and over. Smile immediately returned at her sudden change of heart mid way through her sentence. It was only then that he realized he had no idea what sort of gift to give her. Asking around would only seem suspicious so he was left with no other choice than surprise her or... "Hints?" The nudge encouraged him to play in return, but he Lo kept his hands in his pockets. It was safer that way, especially in the light of day. No, no, no just safer period. Her gave her a shake of his head, looking past her to not seem so interested, trying to play cool. "Nah, I haven't been to the movies in forever..." There was room to make commentary on the perception of hot girls, even send a compliment her way, but he against opted to avoid that messy gray area.
Hints. Well. That was sort of a bummer because she had no idea what she wanted as a belated gift. Pursing her lips in thought Rocky then wrinkled her nose, furrowed her brow and huffed through her nostrils. "Uhm.... stay away from chocolate it'll get me fat. And booze, that'll get me drunk and there's been enough of that lately. And... jewelery boxes need jewelery to GO in, so... get me a Darth Vader mask." It was a joke so she stuck her tongue out as she laughed. So he hadn't been to the movies. Now he was avoiding her gaze and she wasn't sure whether it was due to lack of interest or his annoying habit of restraining himself around her. "It's good to see you..."
His smirk dance its way across his mouth, a look he didn't usually wear. The disappointment in her lack of a serious answer was remotely obvious, though he'd still joke. "A Vader mask? A light saber would be more fun." It wasn't until he said it that Loghan was aware of the possible innuendo and he suddenly felt horrible for having said it. Rather than jumping to cover it up or explain, feeling like that would be even more obvious, he'd just let it go. "Yea, you, too." Sure he wanted to compliment on how nice it was to be in the presence of her sense of humor and smile again, but once again, his judgment thought better of sharing too much.
"I already have a light saber." There was a shrug she gave, not even picking up that it could be phallic. Jacob had given her a green light saber back when he was at TJS. She'd stored it neatly in her keepsake box, hadn't used it for fear of causing damage. But if that was all Loghan was gonna give her then she was going to take charge. Before he finished his lame little return, Rocky had stepped forward to hug him, long and squeezie. "Don't go off again without telling me properly...?"
"Oh..." His voice trailed realizing he'd have to think of something good and creative all on his own. A little muscle memory tracing and he'd try to find something that related to something she might have said in the past, namely on their first outing together. He liked being thoughtful when it came to gift giving. Watching her step forward to break the gap between them, Lo felt his heart race quicken, in a well buried panic as to what would happen next. Hesitating as she hugged him, Lo mentally argued with himself before letting go and just wrapping his arms around her, down across her back. Holding her with equal effort, he smiled at her words. "I won't." Amused that she was demanding anything of him, it was sweet in that she'd obviously cared when he'd left without telling her.
After several moments of hugging Rocky stepped back but only a little, looking at him with a determination. "Good. Cause I know a guy who knows a guy and he'd have to bite your ass off." So long as that was sorted he had no reason to worry now. To show she meant it as a joke though she smiled. "Wanna grab something - to eat?" Okay so that was intentionally to let his mind wander, who said she played easy?
He smiled at the threat, knowing immediately that it was just a joke. Her invitation to food wasn't though. Although Lo didn't need to eat, he had in the past, but today he was feeling particularly vulnerable. Being alone with any beautiful woman, especially one whose company he enjoyed, would only be trouble. Hand rose up to scratch at the back of his head casually, "Uhmm I don't know, I should probably get to work or something..." It was a shitty excuse and he knew she'd see right through it. But Lo didn't want Rocky to feel like it was something personal. "I'm sorry, I'm just feeling anti-social lately."
"Oh okay," Rocky answered, nodding with a smile that she didn't quite feel. Loghan was probably the third or fourth guy in a short period to actually say no to spending time with her. Girl would start to develop a complex - if she hadn't already got all of them embedded in her psyche anyway. Stepping away from him Rocky put her hands back in her pockets, shrugging again as she tried not to seem disappointed. "Yeah I should probably not keep you from actually working...." she laughed, already beginning to make her retreat backwards across the lawns. "Good to see you and... see you around?" She did a sort of captain salute/wave goodbye before she turned and did a sharp exit towards the school. It wasn't personal. She took everything to be personal, but she tried telling herself it wasn't. Loghan had just returned, he didn't need a spazzy girl to entertain or make smalltalk with. Despite her best efforts she still felt a little rejected.
Watching her step even further away, hands in her pockets, the awkward wave/salute and turn on her heel, it all happened too quickly for Loghan. He instantly felt like an asshole, knowing she had taken it personally despite his failure of an effort to make her aware that it wasn't her. It was him. In truth, he was just terrified of running into Molly, for no other reason than he still held a little resentment towards her for leading him, twice, or so that was how he perceived it these days. Fists clenched in minor frustration the nice guy in him unable to live with her thinking he didn't think she was worth hanging out with. Jogging after her as she headed back toward the school, Lo called out, though only loud enough for her hear him. "Rocky, hold up." Reaching her he slowed to a stop and let out a sigh. "We can hang out, I'd just rather avoid the main building... I have some food at my place, or we could just take a walk." What was he doing? He'd keep telling himself it was only in the interest of offering friendship and guidance if she needed it. Rocky had obviously attached to him a bit and he didn't want to turn a student away from companionship, it was just difficult when he was a little biased towards her.
With Loghan running after her it made her feel sort of bad. She hadn't meant to make him feel guilty or anything but it was kinda nice at the same time. Not every day a guy decided to catch up. Turning, Rocky bit her lip a little. She was in danger of declining or giving away her previous disappointment at his actions until he mentioned something in particular. "Food?" her blue eyes seemed to light up. "Food is good." That was her accepting.
Smiling a little he offered a nod of his head back toward the staff building. Sure, there was just as much a chance that Cherry was there, too, but atleast his apartment was at close proximity being on the first floor. It was less of a risk running into her considering she wouldn't be anywhere near his apartment. Falling back into step, he walked with her toward his apartment, trying to figure out what he had to make or offer. Praying no one saw them going into his place, only because the rumors would make him immensely uncomfortable, considering the attraction he was trying desperately to smother. He knew how much the students loved spreading nonsense around. "Anything you're craving?" He asked as they made their way inside the building and down the hall. Moments later they were at his door.
She was craving man meat. Again. Though she should have had her fill by now and on many levels she had, Loghan was still... Loghan. Hot and a staff member which sort of made him naughty, and he was awkward and mysterious. As she made her way into his apartment she waited til the door was closed until she turned to him. There was nothing stopping her from running over and kissing him, but she didn't. Clearly she had more self control than she'd thought. "Uhm. A drink, first..." she shrugged, but it was clear on her face that she really wanted nothing more than to throw her arms around him and have a dirty roll with the groundskeeper.
Holding the door open for her, he'd waited for Rocky to make her way inside before he followed behind her, closing the door after both of them were inside. Not bothering the flick the switch on the sunlight through windows in his studio was enough to light the place up to see. Hesitating as she turned to him he caught sight of the look on her face and felt his stomach tighten with anxiety over in all the ways that this would potentially turn bad. Assuring himself that he was over reacting and needed to contain his thoughts, he agreed, heading toward the kitchen. "Water?" He asked, as he moved from the door to the other end of the room to the small fridge, needing to distance himself from her.
Wimp! Somewhere in her brain she was disappointed he'd backed away from her silent challenge but there was still time, said the little voice which would only be known as her devil on the shoulder. Following him into the kitchen as she was prone to do, seeing as that housed the food, Rocky shrugged. "Water's fine if that's all you got," she answered, taking the time to look around the place again. "So you back for good then?"
"I've got apple... juice." Brows wrinkled as his face remained in the fridge, hating the way those words had sounded coming from his lips. He felt like he was hosting a tea party for five year olds. No, Rocky wasn't that young, but he'd spent so long living under typical societal rules that this was actually what was foreign to him. Grabbing a bottle of water he closed the door, turning to find her much closer than where he'd left her. His calm, outwardly demeanor well hid the anxious wreck he was internally. Twisting the cap for her, he left it on and only partially screwed off to be polite so that she could manage the rest for herself. Leaning his backside against the counter he crossed his arms over his broad chest. "Yea... atleast until the next semester break. I might take a trip again, but I'll probably always come back."
Taking the water Rocky offered him a smile before she sipped at it, considering his words. So he was a wanderer with the homing nature which made him need to come back, something like what she had. Her home at the moment was wherever her brother was, the last of her family. She might run off but she'd always return to him. "Trips are good," she agreed. "They break up the dullness sometimes."
"Yea..." He agreed absent absentmindedly. Watching her drink the water Lo's thoughts trailed momentarily before he snapped out of it. "So movie, food...?" She was his guest after all, Lo was more than willing to entertain her however she preferred, it was just a matter of figuring out what she liked or wanted to do. A movie would be brilliant, a good way to distract himself and keep him from having to look at her face too often. Granted, he'd never make a move on a student, his moral standards far too high for such deviance, but it was still a struggle to pay attention otherwise.
"Both?" Rocky shrugged. She was up for anything but the whole restraining herself because Loghan seemed like a frightened puppy thing was getting old. Maybe he deserved a little shock or something, cause she could tell her was fidgety. Or maybe he was just regretting his decision to invite her into his home. "You got Die Hard?" That way she could impress him with how many fucking lines she knew off by heart.
"Actually, I believe I do. Why don't you go grab it and I'll make us something to eat..." He gestured to the wall covered in a massive book and dvd collection with a nod of his head as he mentally scrabbled for something to make food-wise. It'd been a while since he'd bothered eating food and he was lucky he'd thought ahead a picked up a few groceries when he got back. Pizza! The idea struck him like being hit by a car and he immediately turned back toward the fridge.
Score! The dude had Die Hard. It took a while to find the DVD amongst the various other films Rocky thought she might wanna watch but eventually she picked it off the shelf and shoved it in the player, letting the pre-titles roll with the whole production company logo screaming out. Rocky went to the door of the kitchen and poked her head around, smiling at him cutely. "If you have popcorn you will earn mega points by the way," she told him, before winking and returning to the living room.
Unpacking a froze pizza he's slip it into the oven. Just as he was about to head back into the living room, Rocky poked her head in to drop a hint. Making a quick bag of popcorn in the microwave, he'd dump it into a bowl and head back into the living. Plopping down on the couch, she flashed Rocky and smile before turning his attention to the television.
Unf that smile... the boy had a fucking great smile. And awesome popcorn. Reaching across rather than stealing the bowl, the blonde decided that she wasn't comfy so she slipped off her shoes and proceeded to use Loghan's lap as a footrest. He wouldn't mind; her feet were dainty and didn't smell. Plus she looked adorable so he'd be a hellish man if he said anything ."I want a t-shirt saying Nakatomi Plaza," she commented casually.
"Oh yea...? I'm sure you could find it online or have it made." He said before a handful of popcorn, draping his free arm over her shins. Of course he had no idea how to take her resting her feet on his lap other than she felt comfortable with him. Or so that was the only way he'd allow himself to take it. "I guess you're a big fan?" Lo had seen the movie, but it'd been years, despite owning the actual DVD. He preferred books to films and even then the only ones that really stuck out were the unique indie films.
"I've already seen it online, so I might end up ordering it, just can't put this address cause they won't deliver to detention centers," she shrugged, settling down. Loghan was right in thinking she was comfortable around him, but mainly his lap was a good support for her diddy little ankles. She was after all a fair maiden, with weak whatevers. Not. "I could watch Bruce Willis do anything," was her answer.
"P.O. Box" his one word answer to her conundrum. Her response about Bruce Willis made Lo turn his head just slightly toward her, eying her suspiciously through the corners of his eyes, despite the smirk that played on his lips. Was she serious? "Why's that?" Naturally his mind immediately concluded that she either had a thing for old men or bald men. Loghan, although he appreciated Willis as an actor, couldn't see the appeal in the man whatsoever. "It's the bald head, isn't it?" He teased a little.
Ooh she hadn't thought of that and for a moment her attention was taken from the movie to think about how to get around it. Then she caught sight of Loghan's expression and srmiked smirked at him, digging her leg in a little as punishment. Then she caught sight of Loghan's expression and "Not that way. He's a fucking cool dude! And yeah okay so he's older and he's bald... but he's masculine and dirty and wears a vest! AND he says yippe kayaye motherfucker!"
Lo gave a shake of his head in mock disappointment in hearing the truth, though his smirk never faded. He gave her leg a slight squeeze in exchange for her digging. "Riiiight. So dirty vest wearing bald guys do it for you. Got it." He gave a reassuring nod of his head pretending to return his attention to the movie, though Loghan was hardly paying attention at this point.
To this, Rocky laughed - and maybe got a tiny bit excited when he squeezed her leg. Contact! Hand contact! Shut up, brain. "No, dunderhead," she teased, reaching across to poke at his arm. "Dirty, vest wearing, chunky, muscly, hot sweaty guys beating up bad Germans do it for me. Or just any guy who like Alan Rickman not fussy... so you're dirty, I'm sure you have a vest, you're pretty muscly and I bet you could take on Hans Gruber."
Returning his attention to her as she suddenly switched gears and began tossing Loghan into the comparison, something he probably should have, but didn't actually expect. Damn she was gorgeous. "Maybe..." His smirk turned into a bit of grin, but once more Lo looked back at the television, not liking the looming potential that hung in the air whenever things got quiet and slow between them.
It was quiet but Rocky was far from awkward. So instead she scooted up so that her thighs were now resting on his lap rather than just her calves, her ankles hanging over the side of the sofa (she was long, the couch wasn't) and continued to grin at him. He was fucking fine when he grinned properly. "C'mon you know you could take him. Swing on a fire hose into the fucking building, crawl through air vents.... save the girl..."
His hands, which had been casually resting on her calves were accidentally slid up her thighs as she scooted closer, though he hesitated to move them, unsure of where to place his hands now. The way she spoke, the coaxing, the cursing, his imagination had heard something very different than what she'd actually said. His gaze fixated on her mouth as she spoke, Loghan felt his chest tighten and then release as soon as logic and reality snapped back to him. "Yea, probably." He continued grinning, with a nonchalant, almost cocky shrug of his shoulders.
Loghan was far too self conscious and Rocky noticed it. She had also noticed the way those beautiful eyes drifted to her mouth but then she was also aware of Fisher's voice in the back of her head saying not to fuck every guy who was hot or nice to her.... it was so hard, though, in Loghan's case! There was just this... thing and she knew he liked her too which made a change. "You are such a stud," she giggled, thwapping him with the back of her hand before she turned to watch the movie, causing her to lean back on his shoulder slightly.
"I know, I know... try to contain yourself." He said it with a bit of sarcasm and ironic arrogance. Hands were tucked away under his arms as he crossed them over his chest, feeling it safer to keep his arms crossed then anywhere on her body. He tried not to take the compliment seriously though some school boy moronic mentality was playing out a different movie version in his head. Leaning back on the couch he let out a low sigh, one of subtle frustration as he leaned his head back, watching the movie now.
Rocky finally watched the movie, muttering some of the iconic phrases under her breath and doing little growls whenever she believed Bruce was exerting the right amount of manliness but her mind was never far away from the guy she was effectively sitting on. It was after about half an hour she realised that he smelt really nice, she hadn't even bothered to fidget like she did usually, and that she was at ease. She almost wanted to rest her head against his but refrained.
The girl had no idea how much she was torturing the poor man sitting there, essentially on his lap, her body against his. This had never been so problematic for Loghan. Normally subtle touches, a few smiles and women were his for the taking. But this was an entirely different scenario and despite the primitive instincts she conjured up in him, she was one woman he didn't want reacting to him. Dangerous ground was not where he normally played. He smiled at her mimicking and occasional growl, though Lo remained quiet, watching, adjusting himself only slightly at one point. Lifting his hips off the couch only about an inch, he'd readjust himself, with her on top to get a little more comfortable.
"She's such a whiny bitch." That was Rocky's random comment about John McClane's wife as she was doing something in the final scenes of the movie. Honestly Rocky had no idea why he went back with her or kissed her. Maybe it was adrenaline. Relief. Maybe he looked like her version of Loghan... "Do you have any tattoos?" she asked, turning to him suddenly. If he did she'd die, because that was another tick for him.
"Nah..." He gave a slight shake of his head. Though if he did, Lo wouldn't be so quick to take his clothes off to show her. "I haven't found anything worth putting on my body forever." It was somewhat of a somber response considering his lack of permanence in the world despite his incredibly long life span. "You?" Brow arched as he tossed the question back her, relatively curious.
Rocky answered with a shake of her head though she was kind of disappointed in his answer. "Nope. I want one, though. My friend Tiger has such cool tattoos, all over his body, he designed them all and shit.... I kinda want something like that, you know? Just not sure what"
"Whatever it is, just make sure it's worth it. Nothing's more disappointing than a woman with mickey mouse on her arm 'cause she thought it was 'cool' as a teenager." He gave a look of disdain, turned off entirely by people who went to tattoo shops and just picked flash art off the wall. If it was going on his body forever, Loghan wanted some serious artwork. Uncrossing his arms, fingers pushed through his hair, getting it out of his face.
Rocky had to agree there and she nodded. "Dude... I am not getting mickey mouse on my arm. I'm getting something cooler like a dedication to my family or my first really big achievement like.... not tumbling into bed with another lame ass guy who will only hurt me in the end and..." She sighed, leaning her head back on him finally. "Maybe I've done that already. Maybe I'm finally over that and will now choose the right ones.... but this is lame ass chick talk and you don't wanna hear about it.."
"Good." He assured her that he approved, though to what degree that mattered he didn't really know. And then it got awkward. Rocky rested her head against him and fell into a rant about falling into bed with men and he immediately found himself reliving his experiences with Molly/Cherry. He knew it wasn't fair to blindly associate women with a type, but naturally his guard was already up. It wasn't that Loghan expected virgins, not when he'd been loose in the past with himself. But the idea of someone who could sleep with someone without any sense of emotion left too much not to trust. That didn't make a difference regardless. She was a student and just a friend. "No, it's cool... go ahead."
"I just...." His invitation to go ahead was accepted and she would continue now. "I just, feel like such a dork. I'm twenty years old, I haven't had a proper boyfriend. Fisher says it's cause I just attach myself too quickly but I dunno... I'm not a slut. I think in total I've slept with five guys? Ever? Three were from here, and two of the five in general I was really in love with.... at least I thought I was, and I thought THEY were, until one fuckin dumped me and the other ran off with Fisher to live a happy gay life but... guess I'm upset cause I feel I'm missing out on proper connections."
Loghan chewed on the inside of his bottom lip as he listened, trying to formulate the right set of words to give her in return so that he didn't tread on her feelings or come off too passive and uninterested. "It'll happen... you just have to wait for it to sort of happen organically. Sex isn't an instant all access pass to intimacy. That comes from something entirely non sexual." A mistake he and millions of other people had made and millions more would continue to make until age and experience taught them otherwise.
"Yeah...." That made Rocky think a little. People had said she'd need to get to know someone before she slept with them if she was to have a chance at prolonging whatever it was, but she'd ignored it until now. She did want it to be organic, and contain intimacy, and have a connection that was shared but she didn't know exactly how she'd realise when it was happening. "Thanks," she added quietly, glancing at him. "For listening, and not making me feel like a complete hopeless whore who sucks."
"You're not a hopeless whore who sucks." His hand rose up to smooth over the palm of her cheek in an attempt to comfort and reassure her. He was all too easily allowing the line between student and staff member, old man and young woman to blur, though currently it was nothing more than friendship. Despite the natural attraction he felt to the gorgeous girl sitting on his lap, Lo was far too genuine a friend to allow that to get in the way.
It was probably the honesty and the genuine nature of what he did, combined with the energy of his years behind him, that made Rocky's spine shiver and caused her eyes to water. She felt like she could really believe him and he barely even knew her. This was so.... weird. She was such a fucking dork. But no male had ever made her feel so normal before. In response Rocky found herself suddenly holding him in a hug, trying to show him how much she appreciated it.
Loghan naturally wrapped his arms around the lower half of her torso once she'd hugged him. He couldn't help himself really. Always the loyal friend, he'd accept any and all responsibilities in comforting. Though the closeness of their bodies would nag at the back of his mind, Lo would remain careful not to allow her too close otherwise. "You okay?" He inquired quietly, almost whispering considering the painfully short distance from his mouth to her ear.
There were various answers she could give him - like yes she was fine. For the first time in a while she didn't have the annoying thing in the back of her head that she was a loser and a freak and a slut. That for once, she felt like a guy liked her without being weird about it or about herself. Instead, though, she just sighed and nodded against his shoulder. "Yes. I'm fine."
A half smile moved across his mouth as he moved slightly to pressed a kiss to her forehead. Slowly sinking back into the couch with Rocky in his arms. Loosening his embrace when she assured him that she was fine, he took her word for it. Feeling a little proud with himself for having potentially helped make her feel better. Fingers pushed her new blonde hair behind her ear and smoothed along her jawline before he reminded himself of his place and dropped his hand to his side.
