Dee countered his stance with one of her own. Hands up and ready to punch or block, knees bent and weight balanced just right to move in any direction. She wanted to keep her focus on hand to hand, so she ignored the impulse to create a null and surround him with it. Well, since she also didn't know his powers, it would be rather rude of her to do so.
Her eyes narrowed slightly at the dig, but she let it roll off her back. Her partner, when they had first met, and a few other coworkers had similar comments to try to rile her up. It pissed her off the first few times until she realized that an angry combatant was a sloppy one. Instead of getting angry, she just focused more. Oddly enough, that response generally riled up the men more and made them worse, giving her the advantage.
Since she was smaller and not as strong, Dee knew she needed to save her shots for ones that would connect. Make the big man waste energy by hitting air. After one of his strikes glanced off her shoulder, she ducked in under his guard, giving two quick punches low into his stomach before backing up quickly. When she noticed his frown, Dee grinned. This was much more fun than hitting a sandbag.
