Who: Peyton and Lyle When: Friday around 2am Where: the BGH What: talking
Peyton didn't sleep well, at least not without drugs, and with everyone in the house watching her like a fucking hawk, it was hard to sneak pills. She just wanted to sleep, that's all. Why couldn't they let her do that? Everyone kept asking if she was hungry, did she want to talk, did she need them to get her anything. If she felt herself, she probably would have punched them for mothering her like that, but as it was she just shrugged off their offers and tried to be alone as much as possible.
It was mostly impossible, especially at night. Lyle curled up next to her in bed, making her feel a bit smothered. When she was confident he was in a deep sleep, she snuck out of bed to go outside. Peyton felt better when she was able to look up at the stars, even though these stars looked different from what she'd grown used to in her dreams. She plopped down on the grass in the front yard, and dropped to lie flat on her back, eyes on the sky. It was clear and cool, just right for star gazing.
