Who: Charlie and Fox
When: Friday, 7pm
Where: Charlie's office
What: Fox has been a dick and needs to be set straight
Fox was not looking forward to whatever it was Charlie had in store. And since he'd gotten into a fight with Rorie earlier in the day, the angel was pretty sure the head of security was going to crack down hard. No mercy for a friend. Sucky.
Since he didn't want to be late and risk even more wrath, though part of him wanted desperately to be irksome, Fox made sure he was standing outside of Charlie's office with ten minutes to spare. That way, no matter what clock it was could call him late. Still, he waited until one minute before the hour to knock. He had to put it off as long as he could. This was going to be painful.
Charlie was reviewing schedules, trying to figure out a way to compensate his team for all their extra hours this week, when he heard the knock. "Come in." He waited for Fox to enter, pointing to a chair as he continued to look over paperwork for a moment longer. This sucked. By far the worst part of his job. "Grounded. No leaving campus for at least a week. You'll give me your keys. No dance tonight. And you'll serve a week's detention."
Fox walked in and took a seat where Charlie pointed. He paused just before sitting, hearing what the vampire deemed fair punishment. Wow, way to shoot the shit first. "Uh...at least a week? No definite time frame to that then?" He probably would be smarter keeping his mouth shut, but this was Fox. When did he ever do the smart thing?
Charlie finally looked up at Fox. "I can make it longer," he warned. "Behave yourself, and it will only be a week."
Fox arched a brow and smiled. "Oh I know. I'm typically good and out of your hair. I can stay that way for a week." As it was, he counted himself lucky that Charlie wasn't restricting his movements inside the school or booze. At least he could still have fun on campus. Not being able to drive away for a week would be annoying as hell, but he'd manage. If nothing else out of respect for Charlie. Anyone else he'd tell to fuck off.
"Detention will be served with me. Your actions cost my team a lot of overtime. You'll work so I can give them a bit of a break."
Detention with Charlie. That wouldn't be too bad. Not as much fun as serving it with say Cherry or Angel, but at least Charlie was cool. When he wasn't pissed off. "Alright," he said with a shrug. "Anything in particular I should know?" Fox didn't know shit about security except how to avoid being seen and, normally, avoid getting caught. That last one didn't work so well this time.
"You'll need to get a bit of sleep after classes in the afternoon, because I do rounds from dusk to dawn. Don't slack off on your homework. Get your shit done on your own time and be ready to work at night.
Oh yeah. Vampire. Night shifts. Fuck, there went his evenings. That would just be the icing on the cake to Frankie. She was already upset with him. Fox wasn't sure just how much worse this would make things. "Sure. I'll manage." Dammit dammit fuck.
Charlie could tell Fox was pissed, but that was just too damn bad. He had to pay for his crime. "Good. Get out."
Fox gave a sharp nod then stood. He had the door open before a question he didn't want to ask but knew he should popped into his head. Staring outside, he asked it anyways. "When does this start?"
"Sunday night. Dress to be outside, possibly running, and dark clothes are better. Bitching will not be tolerated."
Fox turned back and arched a brow. "I don't bitch. And I won't slow you down." He'd kept up his running through the summer and had gotten familiar with the grounds, so unless Charlie went off the path, Fox would be able to keep up just fine. Giving a nod, assuming the conversation was over, he stepped through the door and started to head back to the dorms.
