James had tried once, for Fisher. And he had been completely and utterly miserable the entire time. Sure, there had been moments when things had been good, when he had thought that he finally had everything he had ever wanted, but he was soon to discover that what he really wanted was what he had let go of in favor of an idea that was long since dead. And he'd come back. He'd had no choice but to come back.
"Is that so bad?" James asked, voice soft as he began to close the space between them. "Because I'm certainly not complaining." He smiled, stopping just before him as he added, "There's no one I'd rather be bungeed to."
