Fox barely felt the kiss, he was still washed with the relief she hadn't scorched him or worse, turned him away. Feeling her pull away, he released her, watching as she left with the flowers. It gave him a moment to glance around the room. The light was dim, and boxes were still in the corner to be unpacked.
Frankie walked back in a moment later and he stood where he was in the center of the room, though his arms itched to hold her. "I figured that you're worth it, whatever happens with Vinnie." He shrugged. "I didn't know what you may have told him, and I figured he should get first blood since I made you cry." Which was only partially the truth. He really hadn't considered Vinnie until he'd reached her front door, and then it was only briefly. Fox wanted to see Frankie. That was it.
