Who: Cissy
When: Thursday Evening
Where: Simon's Vigil
What: The grieving widow makes an appearance.
For those who hadn't seen her lately, which was pretty much everyone at the school, the first thing they would notice about Cissy VallarioCurtis tonight was how incredibly pregnant she looked. Up until about a week ago, she was barely showing. And then it was as if the baby went through a growth spurt over night and she suddenly looked the part of an expectant mother.
What she didn't seem to look the part of, however, was the grieving widow. She wasn't in tears. She wasn't dressed in black. Her appearance was far from haphazard. She actually looked completely and totally together, dressed in a lovely teal dress that brought out the color of her eyes and some black heels. Her makeup was done perfectly, her hair in a fancy up-do with a few tendrils hanging down to frame her face. If she was going to be out in public, she may as well look nice, at least that was what she'd told herself. Really, getting ready and taking the time to look beautiful had kept her mind off of where she was going and what she was going there for. Though once she was there, there was no taking her mind off of it.
Cissy didn't find a spot directly next to the vigil, but one a little further off and out of the way. She didn't want to be too close. She didn't want to speak to anyone. And anyone who ventured over to say hello to her, to try to strike up some sort of conversation, to apologize, was completely ignored as she simply stared at the flaming candles and gathering people. Even James had gone unacknowledged, the hug he gave her left un-returned, not as much as a word spoken to him before he walked away.
Twenty minutes. Twenty minutes was all that she could stand before she turned around and walked away, sending Ric a text to let him know that she'd be over by the water tower when he was ready to go home. She didn't care to be there anymore, she just wanted to be alone.
