Friday 18th April
Who: Jacob - and Lyn and Mattieus Grey Where: TJS corridors When: Friday afternoon What: The wheel is set into motion...
Lyn and Mattieus Grey, long-married angels of the highest order, stalked the grounds of TJS like they owned the place. Their aim here was merely to investigate the institute as a prospective place to send those who came to them in need, those who required help beyond their capabilities. Their speciality was that of a holy nature, and not all creatures were healed by holy might. If they found the place satisfactory they might even invest some of their great fortune. For that to happen they would need to speak to someone in charge and being foreign to both the country and the building they had no idea where to turn first.
Lyn, with her ice blue eyes and almost pure white blonde hair, walked beside her husband who was almost a mirror to her. Both were tall in stature, graceful in their movements and as she took Mattieus' hand gently she smiled at him as they spoke a while, ambling through the halls when Lyn stopped the nearest student to ask directions.
"Excuse me.." She spoke with an airy voice, not without a hint of sharpness amongst those clipped English tones. "Could you point us in the right direction of the manager's office?"
Mattieus added his own request. "Or even take us there? This institute is rather vast in size."
---
Jacob tried to hold an interest in his classes, though he only managed to pay attention long enough to take notes as always. In between a couple of them, he walked down the hallway to get to the next classroom with his bag loosely hanging off his shoulder. Everyone was walking in the hallways as usual, familiar faces except a couple of adults with blond hair. All right, that was unusual and even more so, they were talking to him.
He stopped in his tracks and glanced at both of them when they talked. Interesting. Maybe they were parents of someone and needed to find out where their precious child went to classes or their dorm room. "You're in the wrong part of the building," stated Jacob, "but yeah, I can take you there." It wasn't like he was very talkative or had the courage to find out about people most of the time, but he was relaxing as time wore on.
"Follow me." He took a couple of steps and then threw caution to the wind. "Are you here to see your son or daughter? Maybe I can let them know you're here." Hey, he wanted to see the reaction of whoever had to see them, even if it was the director of the school.
----
The two angels followed Jacob quietly, taking note of everything within the school. It was a few moments before they answered Jacob's questions, a very sullen look falling on Lyn's face.
"We have not seen our son in years," she said, not really paying attention to him as she walked. "We merely wish to ask about what it would take to invest in this institution. It's of great interest to myself and my husband's work."
Mattieus smiled at Lyn's words and squeezed her hand, leaning in to whisper. "He has a smell of sin about him no?"
"Yes. Very angry inside, poor boy."
"He has a tainted feel... black magic I believe."
"We will see." Lyn engaged Jacob once more. "How do you find life here, er...?" she left it open ended for him to say his name.
---
So they hadn't seen their son in a while. That could describe a number of people around here, by the sounds of it. He needed to learn their names before he made any ridiculous guesses about their identities. They just wanted to see the director of the school and he could be the messenger without any problems.
That was his goal until they started to whisper about him. They were like aliens, coming down to earth and making observations. Jacob had seen more than one bad sci-fi film, so he could spot the type from a mile away. Very angry, maybe, but tainted feel? What the hell were they? He decided to take the opportunity to amuse himself. "It blows," Jacob responded, half-truthfully. "The only way I can cope is to gather my inner peace circle and have copious amounts of karma. Oh, and my name is Jacob. What are your designations?"
Yeah, he wouldn't be surprised if their work/potential investment in the school was to brainwash the students here for some cult, not unlike the Borg.
---
Aliens would be being polite.
"My name is Matteius Grey, and this is my wife Lyn," was Jacob's answer, the tall man trying not to pay attention to Jacob's language. If they were able to gain influence at this school then the students would find their mouths no longer spouting such foul words. "We are here on God's business."
And Jacob would do well not to question it.
---
There were a couple variations of Greys in the school, one who he knew better than the other and he furrowed his brow in confusion for a moment. He was even more stunned by the confession that they were on God's business. What did that mean? It was ridiculous, and he tried not to laugh in disbelief in their faces. He thought he succeeded at it too.
"Okay," he said. If he was polite, he might have said it was nice to meet them. As it turned out, it was just strange. "We're almost there." The sooner he left those people, the sooner he could ask William about them. A couple more minutes of walking and soon they were where they needed to be. "Here you go. Good luck with your business."
---
Lyn and her husband continued to talk, mumuring to each other commenting from everything like their surroundings to the boy who was leading them to the director's office. They were very odd people indeed, gave off an aura which would probably not be out of place in an asylum. They didn't seem right. The way they carried themselves, holier than thou...
As soon as Jacob dropped them off Lyn shot him a pleasant look, soft and sweet with a hint of something else. "Thank you," she told him, waiting for him to leave. Once he was out of earshot her husband was the first to receive her thoughts. "This mirrors a hive..." She told him with a shudder but he didn't seem too phased and merely knocked on the office door, waiting for someone to answer.
