"Yeah, salt is great. My hair loves it about as much as chlorine. However, of the two, salt makes me feel like a beached whale, and that should be impossible with this figure." A slight gesture unintentionally invited him to have a once over. But seriously, salt water made her feel sticky and hot and irritable. And she usually started pretty touchy, so there was no need to exacerbate the issue.
If Addie had ever met Kat, she might have found her to be a cool person. However, if she'd known the full extent of what she'd done to Starbuck, she would have seen her for the bitch she was. Didn't mean she couldn't have hung out with her, but anyone who purposely did that to a person was a loser. Pure and simple. Fun to have fun with, but anyone who'd do that wasn't worth an ounce of shit. She'd turn on you in a second.
The blond grinned widely that her suggestion was so well-received. Score one for crazy ideas. Kamea would appreciate it. "Yes! See, hang around me long enough and even you can have awesome ideas." Booming voice as per Smoky the Bear included. "Alright, seriously gotta get some more boxes up here. If you can help, great. But don't make the sitter wait." And with that, she was out the door. She had work to do today, and despite her proclivities, she had always been the work first, play later kind of girl.

"Well, if you change your mind and want to give salt water a second chance, I have something that you can use on your hair. My mom swears by it, and she's converted all my female friends. It's called monoi. Uses coconut oil and frangipani. Smells nice." It was great for massages too. Kim was especially fond of it, and thinking about that was enough of a distraction to keep from noticing Addie's invitation to check her out. She looked enough like Kat that he really didn't need to picture her naked to know what was underneath. That was a body he had memorized.
Kat was a bitch. That was not a word Starbuck cared to use, usually, but he made an exception with Kat. It had taken him a long time to see the woman for what she really was, but now that he did, he could call her a bitch without hesitation. It wasn't that she'd taken advantage of him, Kat had actually pushed Starbuck away several times, warning him that he was only going to get hurt. But then she'd be amazing again and suck him right back in. Warnings about drugs and other addictive substances didn't stop people from using, and Kat's words of caution couldn't keep Starbuck away.
Simply shrugging at the suggestion he hang out with her more, Starbuck was noncommittal. While he was getting along with Addie right now, there had to be something wrong with the idea of getting to know her better. He could see it now.. people gossiping that he was crushing on her as some sort of Kat substitute. Insane, yes, because he'd never go back to that bitch or even a 2.0 version, but people loved to start rumors like that, and Kim might not see through such bullshit. "I, uh.. I probably should get back," he stated, grabbing his books from the box on the floor and following Addie out the door. "It was nice to meet you, Addie. Sorry I was such a fuck up."

That monoi stuff sounded nice. "Doesn't take care of the sand," she pointed out flippantly.
Hmm. Avoidance. Addie was a pro at it, and someone as upstanding as Starbuck couldn't fool her. At least, he was upstanding compared to her. "I'm used to fuck ups, so it wasn't too much of a shock. It's been a slice." With another salute, she was down the hall and around the corner.
