James didn't really work that way either, so why he had thought he could with Fisher... That should have been the first indication that he wasn't really ready, that he wasn't really trying, to let the other man go.
But he would let Will go. He had to. And last night, it had seemed like doing so would be easy. All he had to do was just not think about it, to only think about what he had in front of him, and he was perfectly fine. But now, here outside of this door, he was starting to realize that it wasn't going to be that simple.
"I already miss you." The words were whispered. He didn't intend for him to hear them because it wouldn't do either of them any good. Clearing his throat, he forced back his resolve. "I'm going now." He said this louder so that Will could hear him, waiting for a few seconds to see if there was any sort of response.
