Saturday, April 12th, 2008 Who: Astrid and Jack Where: Fox's room, then Jack's room When: Saturday afternoon or so What: Astrid can't find Fox!
After answering emails from a few people about if she was doing okay, which, she realized real quickly would get really annoying, Astrid had had some time to think about what had happened last night. Namely, what had happened with her and Fox. Waking up to realize you acted like a slice of scum-cake was pretty humbling. Like, humble pie levels of humbling. She was really ashamed at her behavior, since she knew, she knew that the only reason she'd thrown herself at Fox was because 1, she'd wanted to try and forget everything with Keagan, and 2, a part of her knew that there was seriously nothing worse she could do to hurt Keagan in retaliation. At least, if he cared about her like he'd said he had.
In the morning, though, Astrid had realized it was a bad idea and that Fox had done the right thing. She needed some time to sit here and feel sorry for herself, time to process what had actually happened with Keagan so she could figure out how to move on from there, and she knew that her track record was pretty telling. She hated not being around guys, even as just friends. And Fox was her friend. If she screwed things up by sleeping with him out of retaliation, they both would have suffered.
So, around 1 or so, she decided to go track down Fox and go apologize to him. She knocked on his door a few times, but got no answer, which was kind of odd. She tried his door and realized that it was locked, too. Okay, so, no dice there. Astrid fished her phone out and called him, but got nothing there as well. In fact, it went right to voicemail.
And maybe she was being a little bit... paranoid, but she kind of had a feeling in her stomach that something was up. Something was wrong. And Fox lived alone in his room, so - ohgodwhatifhe'ddranktoomuchbecausehegotupsetwithherlastnightandSHITTHISWASHERFAULTSOMEHOW.
Astrid knew some spells that she remembered off the top of her head, and one of the ones was to unlock doors. It helped when your parents did lame crap like tell you you couldn't play video games when they wanted you to study physics, so they'd lock up your N64 in the closet. She quickly learned how to unlock the door.
Astrid took a deep breath and focused herself, then muttered a few words with her hand over the doorknob. When she heard the click, her eyes widened a little and she slowly went to open the door. Man, if he was in here, he would totes kill her.
Except he wasn't. A few seconds of walking into the room and listening told her that he wasn't even hiding and breathing somewhere. He was gone. Okay, it was possible he was at the gym or elsewhere on campus.
As she turned to start to leave, though, an open letter caught Astrid's eye. And there was a photo that she remembered being on Fox's bookshelf normally, but now it was on her desk. "Wow, girl, you're even thinking paranoid..." Astrid muttered as she made her way over to the desk and picked up the letter. The newspaper clipping that went with it was pretty clear, too.
"Oh man..." Astrid whispered. This looked bad. If he left town for Farmville... shit, she had no idea if he was even coming back.
Astrid quickly dropped the letter back onto the desk and dashed down the hall, skidding to a halt in front of Jack's room. She righted herself and started pounding on the door.
