Sunday March 30th 2008 Who: Jack and Astrid Where: Halls When: Early morning What: Jack runs into Astrid in the halls on the way to the shuttle van!
Jack was on his way to Rae's room when he saw a blonde carrying a suitcase on the other end of the hall. As he got closer, he recognized the way she walked before her features.
"Astrid, hey!" he said, with a wide, happy grin. Oh, he was excited. Someone else was paying for him to stay in a stylish pad and get drunk/stoned/blitzed. Happy, happy boy. He carried a suitcase in one hand effortlessly, and his bookbag over the opposite shoulder. "What up?"
Astrid had actually packed pretty economically, given all the stuff she had WANTED to bring on the trip. Keagan had to point out, though, that athames were technically knives and she couldn't even check it. Still, though, her freakin' suitcase was heavy. "Jack!" She gasped as she heard her name and looked up, grinning and making her way over to him so she could take a second to pause and put her suitcase down. "I see you're totes ready to go. Dude, this is gonna be rockin'."
"I'm on my way to Rae's." His smile became more of a smirk. "You goin' to Keagan?"
"Yuuup." She chuckled a little. "He's supposed to have finished packing, but considering he's in charge of the travel arrangements, I need to make sure he didn't sleep in."
"Awww," he teased, setting his suitcase down too.
Astrid reached over and gave him a playful punch to the arm, certainly not hard enough to hurt. "Shut up, goober. Or I'll make sure you get the seat next to the bathroom on the plane."
"Oh, I will fucking kill you," he said, with a laugh. "How would you even manage that? With your witchie magic? I thought that was only good for injuring unsuspecting animals."
Propping her hands on her hips and flushing a little, Astrid let out a noise of mock annoyance and offense. "You know what? They're a force for justice and truth and... and... the American Way to stop big annoying bully dogs from stealing the toys of younger dogs."
He stared at her for a moment before letting out a chuckle. "Uh huh."
"Don't look at me like that! Or I will start calling you dogboy again, so help me!" Astrid pointed at finger at him, laughing a little and starting to wiggle the finger in front of his face.
His smile was a little forced, but he shook his head and chuckled. "Alright, alright."
She dropped her hand with a slightly satisfied smirk, and then let out a yawn. "Oh, jeez, sorry. I didn't realize how freakin' late I stayed up last night, cause I couldn't sleep."
"What were YOU doin'?"
"Shut up, I didn't mean it like that!" Astrid squeaked, laughing and blushing bright red. "Shut uuuup."
"Sure you didn't, that's why you're a tomato now," he said, chuckling and giving her a once over with his laughing eyes. She was cute. It was decided.
"Iiii do not know what you're talking about." Astrid reached up, covering her face with her hand, but she was laughing, and it was completely obvious that she was flustered, but in a much better way. "And besides, what if we did?"
"Just wondering what kept you up so late!" he said, liking how easy she was to rile up.
Astrid laughed, reaching out to punch him in the arm again. "You are such a jerk, but gah, at least you're cute. It makes up for it."
"That's my life motto. I have it on a tee shirt." She punched like a girl. He pretended like he had to rub his arm.
"Nice. I'm so not surprised." Astrid, of course, wasn't just blushing because she was embarrassed at the question Jack had asked. She was a little transparent when she thought a likeable guy was cute, and she thought Jack was smokin'. "Anyway... so, do we have an itinerary for the trip or anything?"
Jack laughed at her. He was the wrong person to ask about an itinerary. He didn't plan anything.
"Okay, guessing by the laugh, I take it we are flying by the seat of our pants!" Astrid smiled and then motioned to her suitcase. "Good thing I brought a copious amount of horror movies."
"Nice, nice. Uh, I dunno the plans. I guess we'll see when we get there. My plan now is just to get to the plane on time."
Astrid nodded, then glanced down at her watch. It was weird, but she wore her watch with the watchface on the inside of her wrist, as opposed to the outside like everyone else, but for her, that just seemed to make more sense... "Oh, shit! Yeah, dude, I better go get Keagan. The van's supposed to get here in, like, twenty minutes."
"Jeez, really? Alright. I hope Rae's ready. She kinda waits until the last minute for everything." He picked up his suitcase. "Meet you soon."
"Okay, awesome, I will totally see you later." Astrid picked up her suitcase again with a groan, then sighed and started to make her way towards the boy's dorms. "OKay, Keagan is SO carrying my suitcase. The PRIVILEDGE of being my boyfriend."
"Hell yeah!" he cried, having hoisted his up and was already speed walking away.
