That God Finn was explaining this, because at its simplest, it didn't make any sense to Lily. She could see the problem, but not the need for this much anger. But now, it was clear. No wonder Rorie was upset and mad, and probably scared. He probably did think Finn was going to try and interfere. "But you won't," she said quietly, settling back on the couch and resting her head on Finn's shoulder. "You said you don't want him, and... I mean... you wouldn't do that. Right?" Turning her face to him, she tried to keep him in focus, but it was getting difficult. "You wouldn't do that to him?"
"Not even if I was in love with Garret. I just thought he was a good friend. Probably my best since Rez dumped me. You and him were all I had, but I guess that since he told Rorie he was in love with me I doubt that I'll be able to call him that."
Drawing her knees to her chest, Lily sighed. "Unless he and Rorie split up. If they did, then I guess you guys could stay friends. Unless him liking you bothers you too much, then I guess not." Lily had been that guy before, the guy who loved the guy and couldn't say anything, couldn't do anything about it. It was hard and it hurt.
