Who: Frankie and Hunter When: Thursday night Where: the campus rec center What: playing pool!
Frankie was feeling stupidly nervous. Why had she agreed to meet Hunter in just TWENTY MINUTES!?!?! That wasn't enough time to make herself look adorable! Ok, so Cole had said that Hunter had a girl or something, but he'd never actually used the word girlfriend. And, well, maybe the whole distance thing wouldn't work out! Sadly, thinking that made her feel kinda bad, and she quickly said a few Hail Mary's as penance. She shouldn't be hoping for someone to break up just because she had a tiny crush, right? That was bad! Just like she shouldn't have been looking for her cutest jeans and that black sweater that made her boobs look bigger. She shouldn't have been doing that, nope, but she was. Probably shouldn't have used that little spritz of perfume, or put on her favorite lip gloss, or quickly tousled her hair to make it look better. She shouldn't have done ANY of those things. But she did. And then she looked at the clock and realized she was gonna be late. Shit.
Snatching up her cell phone and her keys, she bolted from her room and ran through the hallways. Sucked that she'd had track just a few hours earlier, because she was a little sore already from the good workout, but it didn't slow her down. She was faster on her feet than she was when flying. Her wings really just got in the way, but they were flapping a little to help speed her up.
Then she stopped suddenly. Where was that damn tunnel that would take her to the rec center without having to go outside. Crap, crap, crap! She spotted a nice looking girl and ran over to her. Thankfully, the blond had been a student here for a while and was able to point Frankie in the right direction. She sped through a few more hallways, then down some stairs to the underground passage, and about two minutes later than she said she'd meet him, she arrived at the rec center.
Frankie's body naturally produced more heat than a human's, and it was also much better at dealing with that heat. Thankfully, her sprint hadn't caused her to break a sweat, because that would make for a terrible first impression. She didn't want to be known as the sweaty girl! She looked around, seeing there were a good number of students milling about. It made sense, what with off campus visits not being allowed during the week, and today having been the first day of classes. Kids had to blow off steam somehow! Still, she wasn't looking for just anyone, she was trying to spot Hunter.
